I think they would have had a lot more money pledged if they said any donated /pledged money would be returned if not used to buy a stake in Newcastle the fact that no money would be returned in the event of NOT buying a stake put me off I already give to my own charities without wanting to add to others I don't know
You just he was tugging himself silly when he posted that. BeIn chairman and UEFA member are the same person. ****ing joke.
It’s sick man. I mean the owner of PSG, on the board at uefa and connected to Bein. Accepting a lower offer. How does that make business economic sense. The whole football world is corrupt.
Obvious conflict of interest. TV company owned by the owner of PSG and UEFA executive member wins TV rights despite submitting lower bid. The same c u n t who wrote to the PL lobbying for the Saudi takeover to be stopped because it presented a major threat to their commercial partnership/ cartel. The only thing is - that corrupt twat doesn't understand that UK law prohibits such actions.
Personally think the corruption at UEFA works in our favour. It arguably welcomes heftier than expected investment to allow NUFC (or another club, pending the CAT/Arb) to gate-crash the Qatar party. £600m which PIF put towards investment in football broadcasting with no home....
Probably yet more evidence that BEin Sports as a commercial partner to the PL are intent on stifling competition to a select cartel of clubs.... I also don't think that certain clubs will be too happy when they realise that their TV/ Prize money has been effectively capped through acceptance of a lower bid. BEin offer a lower amount than competitors, i.e. they effectively monopolise the market and as they have a UEFA board member who owns the company, they can avoid paying out more money for a product that is sought after. That is basically saying you can offer what you want but BEin will always win the rights so we do not recognise competition. Given that competition law involves access to a competitive market and a prohibition against cartel/ monopolisation, would this not be deemed anti-competitive conduct under UK and EU law?
Depends what the contract is awarded on. It’s not always price alone, in fact it rarely ever is. KSA don’t have the infrastructure in place to broadcast to the region and the deal includes 21/22 season so that’s the biggest factor right there. If you take your Black and White striped specs off for a while, it’s like Amazon trying to take on Sky for broadcasting of PL, they’re not ready, despite the fact that they’re infinitely richer than Sky.
This is in fact correct chaps. Although who knows if SA had the infrastructure to broadcast it. They reckon it’s 60:20:20 price quality deliverance or something like that. Still the fact is it smells off. With the connections. And the Bein letter to the PL clubs (asking for them to seriously question the takeover) shows that they will do anything to ensure Saudi do not get anything over them.
