Society not just football imo, it's causing a bigger divide in race issues.

Think this shows we won’t be in for a striker or 10 tbh. Winger, LB and CM (Dallas role) will be our targets plus 23s signings.

Congrats to Roberts on his 3 year deal.
Looks like we are giving him at least another season to show his worth.
The lad was one of the lower earners so I doubt we have broke the bank to keep a hold of his services.
with us being in the Prem we obviously have the funds now to keep him here and keep looking at him and improving him.
right or wrong Bielsa knows best.
End of the day the contract also covers the clubs future interest. At least now we have a saleable Asset if that progress is not met.
Obviously they see something there more than some of us Fans.
I'm another one now who has to bite the bullet as honestly I thought he would be one of the first transfers out the door.
Good Luck Tyler go prove me and a few others wrong.

Gazza the best thing I remember about you was when you and your brother where chased by Leeds fans at Manchester airport when they where heading for a flight and you and your kid had to do a runner and hide in a room, I think you should do the same thing now and preferably stay in there because your just another wannabe preacher giving your advice to the masses and expecting them to hang on your every word....you are entitled to an opinion as are those you deem to be uneducated plebs because they choose to boo at this spectacle....zzzzz

    Note to the FA
Are you all lacking in intelligence if so let me educate you.
The taking of the knee all started with the episode of George Floyd
BLM Black Power Salute pulling down of our English history we now hear that some students want to remove the portrait of the queen from their common room yet you seem content to promote such activities
Time you put your thinking caps on and got the grey matter working
Yes racism is wrong but taking the knee has too much history to be meaningfull
I appreciate that you have backed yourselves into a corner (your own fault) time to move on without insulting football fans by saying we are not intelligent and don’t understand.
I am not a “pundit” trying to earn a crust by keeping my name on everyone’s lips nor do I earn 20k-300k a week
Time to get your heads out of your arse’s and earn your brass before it really blows up in your faces
Never mind black power fan power is on its way
I feel a lot better for that

Wholly agree, although I thought the 'taking the knee' originated in American Football. Can't remember the protest exactly, but if I recall correctly, it was football players refusing to stand for the flag & anthem, which Trump blew out of all proportion.

Then again, with the amount of news I watch these days (v.little), I could be talking absolute bollox, as usual. :D

I honestly can’t see we can lose here.

Scenario 1 Roberts proves Bielsa right and many (possibly including me) wrong and, like Dallas, Bamford etc proves to be invaluable.

Scenario 2 he carries on as is and we sell him for £10 million in a year at today’s rates because he is under contract.

Scenario 3 we sign another Raphinia calibre player in his position and we hardly ever see him but the team thrives and we can still sell him - who cares?

Scenario 4 we don’t sign said player but Greenwood and/ or Gelhardt step up and thrive - who cares?

If we didn’t do this and he left for peanuts and then proved Bielsa right, I can guarantee the, ahem, experts on here would know exactly what Rads, Orta and Kinnear had got wrong :emoticon-0148-yes:

Scenario 2? What are todays rates bearing in mind every club had no fans and a cut in telly income. I would snap anyones hand off at 10 million for Roberts.

Mate, what you would sell Roberts for and current market value for an international footballer on his way to the Euros are vastly different numbers :emoticon-0148-yes:

I can see England fans applauding Croatia for not taking the knee when they meet.

Your right of course but as everyone bends facts to produce a good story I thought I would do the same however I stick to my point that taking the knee in the UK started at the time of the George Floyd affair :emoticon-0148-yes:
