Yeah I'll always back Germany to be there or there abouts. They had a shocker last time out and I just can't see them doing that two tournaments in a row. Unfathomable.
It’s whether they can overcome France and Portugal in the group, I have them coming third as they have struggled toward the end of the Löw era, but they could still be a danger in the knockouts, I expect they will get a best third place.
I'm still holding out hope for France to have one of their meltdowns. It'd make it a far more interesting tournament as I think there's not a huge gap between a lot of sides excluding them. Last two were 2002 and 2010 so they're due one!
I might think he's a deeply average manager, but this is ace - https://www.theplayerstribune.com/p...7SDDwaK-K86QD_P9_gto2avpnYXP1VNAkOfFeoH4H7SSk
Disagree with many of his squad choices and often tactics but he is a more than decent bloke and has to be remembered that he did bring a togetherness back to the national side aswell as an affinity with the fans.
I'm in my 40s but I still put up a wall chart and fill it in Normally I put it up by my desk at work but the missus has given me special permission to put it up in the kitchen this year instead
Apologies if already discussed. Are we all agreed that finishing 2nd in the group would be greatly preferable to finishing 1st in the group, given the format for the 2nd round games. Winning the group sees us up against 2nd in Group F (France/Germany/Portugal/Hungary), 2nd in group sees us face 2nd in Group E (Spain, Sweden, Slovakia, Poland)
Two days to go so I've added a poll which will close as the group stages come towards a conclusion. Who you backing? France are obviously strong favourites, it would be good if they have one of their tournament meltdowns as I think it's relatively close outside of them. Italy I think are strong contenders. Not lost since 2018 and have a solid squad and steady manager in Mancini. Portugal have a very talented side and with the Ronaldo factor, even at 36, it wouldn't surprise me one bit it they're there or there abouts. You can never write off the Germans in a major tournament. I personally think the winner will come from one of the above sides. I can't see Belgium as any more as 00's England re-incarnated and I also don't see us, Spain or Holland winning it.
Not me. Winning the group means we play the last 16 at Wembley which I think could be a huge advantage. Gotta play the big sides eventually so bring 'em on imo.
I've got my fridge stocked with beers for the Euro's but I've decided to get different one's for different countries. So I've got San Miguel for when Spain are on because it's Spanish, Stella for Belgium because it's Belgian and Carling for Scotland because it's ****.
Why aren't Scotland on that list. I have bought a Scotland shirt to show my support for our boys Adams and Armstrong. **** England the better Scotland do the more Nicola can smirk at that twat Johnson.
