To all those that appear to have forgotten, after the last 30 years of misery, Tottenham Hotspur is still a football club and not just an investment opportunity. The only way to measure the success of a football club is by the number of trophies it wins, rambling on about average league finishes is virtually meaningless and about as relevant as Sol Campbell. ENIC, Lewis and Levy have had 20 years to deliver silverware and they have failed spectacularly. Give me Chelsea etc recent history any day.

It was...and can be again...but not run as it is currently. Everything reeks of a lack of focus, desire and energy.

I think they'd rather have their bank balance

It's amazing what the ability to outspend anyone else during a depressed transfer market can bring...

Being used as a prop by the right-hand man of a dictator, who's a threat to democracy across the world? Hard pass from me, thanks.
This is what it comes down to. Some people want to go the PSG, Chelsea and City route and some of us would go if we did.

i don’t understand why some fans think dictators and murderers are the only alternatives to Levy.

Romano jumping on the 3 day old Express news? We were linked with him in early May too, IIRC.

Anyone have any idea what’s he’s like as a coach? He’s managed some teams that are big teams in their respective leagues before. Is he a somewhat classically conservative Portuguese coach or does he fit the brief we want?

They're not. The alternatives would be on a par with ENIC at best, though.
Murdery dictators or American franchise owners look like the only choices. Not for me, ta. <ok>

Mostly because people bafflingly still hold up Chelsea and The Sheikh Mansour Team as teams we should aspire to be

But maybe the new prospective owner knows about football or respects those that do a bit more than that muppet Levy…it’s not only about spending more.

No-one thinks they are the only alternative. If ENIC stay then they can appoint anyone they like as Chairman. I've never seen anyone suggest who that might be.....
If ENIC sell up then we are into the unknown. I guess there's a 20% chance of getting owners who are better, 40% of getting owners who are worse and 10% of getting someone who I couldn't countenance as owners.

I wonder, and maybe @PowerSpurs or @The RDBD can crunch the numbers....

Which is more financially profitable and easier to attain success through:

Focusing on the stadium as an events venue and NFL franchise?
    Or
Focusing on the team and on pitch success?

Which delivers the bullion quicker and easier?

Nope but I often enjoy watching Tifo videos on YouTube analysing a manager’s tactics, not watched it yet but here’s the one about Foncesca’s Roma if you wanna take a butchers. I’m gonna watch it in 5 mins.

Portuguese defender who has had various management jobs, including Porto, Pacos de Ferreira and Braga in Liga NOS.
Did well with Shakhtar Donetsk, winning three consecutive doubles, but there's not much competition in that league, really.
Spent the last two seasons with Roma, finishing 5th and then 7th, leading to the sack and his replacement by Mourinho.

Haven't seen enough of his **** to know what he's like, so here's a video. They're generally fairly accurate:

    Sounds very Portuguese. Mourinho II.

Yes a successful team…that’s what we want.

I think some people are quite intelligent enough to know that there are other types of potential owners too.

I’ll settle for an owner who loves the game and wants us to succeed…that’s not just about money. We could have won a few important trophies in the last 6 years and we didn’t have to behave like either of them two teams you mentioned. However we needed a chairman who knew his football or had people in place who did so that we could make the most of our moment…but Levy’s arse dropped instead

Like I said earlier, he hasn’t got what it takes for us to get to the next stage.
