If we do sign him the club have done extremely well. I think we have to admit we aren't favourites here, so I hope there isn't a huge meltdown if he's announced for a championship club next week.

I think what we are seeing at least in the rumours in the press is that we aren't even offering the most wages etc out of the League One clubs. That might not be true of course, but I'm not too bothered about that. I'd much rather KLD and Speakman ran the club they think they should for the future of the club. If other clubs want to break the bank then they're going to be in a worse position for it eventually.

IF we get him, I agree we've done exceptionally well. I'd assume it would be more to do with the long term ambitions of the owner and senior management team than his affiliation with the club.

If that were the case then we can truly begin to enjoy the fact that this club does want to go places and is beginning to plot the path forward, having turned the hulking ship around and pointing it in the right direction the past 6 months.

I’d give him the time he needs. If you put a gun to his head in this manner it looks awful from a club perspective

Exactly, all of our business needs to be done quietly, calmly and professionally ...

... we had a pantomime with Donald, this needs to be a serious production.

That would be a terrible decision imo. He could leave in until the very last minute, to decline the offer which will then leave us in the ****. No chance we should be waiting around. I’d give him until Friday.

  6. If we've made him an offer and he's considering it,we have to give him a respectful amount of time and make sure we have plans B and C in place ready to act depending on his decision.

I've been told that sometimes, in matters such as this, its better to be patient.

Friday? So, if we made him an offer yesterday, you’d give a young talented lad 3 days to decide if he wants to move away from his home and play football in the third division?? Glad you’re not negotiating

Yes let's foster a reputation for being arrogant and giving players ultimatums ...

... that should make us an attractive proposition <doh>

21 years old a young lad, I’d left home 7 years by then and you think somebody of 21 can’t make a decision for himself <doh>

Tbh, the transfer window/signings/etc are none of our business.

You either trust the club or you don't ...

... I do, at the moment, so I'm not at all worried especially as the window has just opened.

As long as he needs. It’s a young lad asked to completely uproot his life for is career. How long, at 22/3, would you have wanted to make such a big decision. Besides, have we agreed a fee?

All paper talk for time being. Be great to see some coming in but we're a long way from judging safc on transfers.

Tyat is literally the opposite to what I’m saying. I’m saying he needs to make sure it’s the right decision for him. Not move then regret it. Give him time. 21 is a lot younger now than it was when you or I were that age.

At 14 you left home? We.l done you. I was 22. Then I moved back at 26!! Was too young at 22 fir definite. Not everyone is the same. Be great if it was as easy as that
