I know, maybe this shouldn't be a top level post, but it's a cheery story, and i don't know about you, but i need to hear those today!

So, before the game, the team were warming up and at the front of the Rookery there was a little boy, perhaps 5 or 6, watching with his mates. Suddenly he got whacked in the head by a ball, and started to cry. Alec Chamberlain came over to see if the boy was alright and he lifted him up over the barrier and walked him from near the corner flag to the goal, where he got the boy to take a shot..and he scored. As the boy started walking back, Marvin Sordell came over to him and gave the little boy his shirt. It was very lovely to see the boy so smiley happy.

Whatever we say today about performance and where we go from here, this, for me, was a highlight of the day.

(Apart from Dickinson body blocking a CP player and not getting booked for it, despite it being under the linesman's nose, which had the Rookery laughing quite a lot ;) )

he's good...he made some great tackles today...i do wish he'd pass more up the left wing, but really they're not playing the wings at all. But yep, he's a definite fans favourite.

need murray in midfield he could pass tackle and do the simple thing well!

no wing play is worrying as well thats what were famous for! get whichelow , and Britt back to fitness then we would see a bit of pace , urgency and skill! we could have persevered with massey as well
Hodson and Thompson also looked good last season

i completely agree...i love his passion. He always gets a huge applause from the bottom left of the Rookery when he comes over before the game. I think he was also one of very few players that got applause when he was leaving the pitch today...

I think we should use them from January...they can survive a few months, they wouldn't have survived the season. Britt isn't actually fit at the mo, and though Hodson was better last season, i'd still not play him. Thompson is doing well on loan, i'd leave him at Brentford for now, but bring Massey back.

No bloody point having an academy if we dont use it , get relegated then all the talented ones get pinched by other clubs coz were not using them! It seriously does my head in! and the more I think about the more amazed I am that Dyche is doing what he is doing ,because he knows these kids from his time coaching them , maybe he is to familiar with them and protecting them like a mother hen too much! But he more than anyone should know there talent ,and he saw under MM how to use them ! yes I know they fell away at the end of the season , but getting going this season is a more pressing problem!

Play them in the winter and harder conditions eh H ! Sorry with Malky on this one ,Now we have a side with limited ability , limite d confidence , limited trust in the gaffer , Even jan will be too late the team we have assembled just isnt good enough for this league ! Kenny will keep the lions up, Bristol will buck up with a new boss , Donny despite their 3-0 loss to leeds are streets better than us at the mo , I,m struggling to see 3 more inept teams than us!:(:(:(

i have to admit to feeling very down after today...earlier in the season we were creating chances, we were bright, we were passing well, but with each game we seem to be getting worse, not better. I hate to admit it...but i'm beginning to agree with you...:(

As you say, there's no point passing there. Unless the opposing full back is so bad that Dicko can run up to him and win the ball back.

i know..but it's so obvious that we should be playing the wings. If it's obvious to me, why on earth isn't it obvious to professional footballers?

Good news Lionel Birnies new book 100 Greatest Watford Wins is coming out this month he said it is with the printers at the moment.

I think we are going to need it this season. When we are all cheesed off we can look at another great Hornet win and bring all those happy memories back.

Good old Lionel always there in a Hornet Crisis.
