This. Sometimes HBIC mentions sites and blogs that I’ve never even heard of. I get most of my Spurs info off this site and Twitter.
Nicolo Schira, a highly followed yet semi-unreliable journo in my opinion has said Paratici has signed a 3 year deal with us. That’s pretty cool and all (if true) but we kind of need a manager the guy can work with to start planning ins and outs.
Is this how bad things have got where we're excited at the prospects of a DoF joining us? I really don't recall ever getting excited at these appointments!
I guess we are just relieved that someone who is supposed to have a clue about football matters has joined our club.
Nice of you to forget about the times I criticised the Spurs fans who racially abused Bergwijn and Sanchez last season But typical from a Man Utd fan, responding to valid criticism by pointing the finger right back looking for some form of "hypocrisy"
Spurs fans, 2017-20: "We need a DoF" Spurs fans, 2021: "Why are we getting excited about a DoF?" What do Spurs fans want?
I want the happy clapping, Levy apologist, puppets to throw off their profit before glory induced Stockholm syndrome and agree that 'To Dare Is Too Dear'. It's football, lighten up a bit.
When the exact same buzzwords from Harry ****espout and the more poisonous Twitter feeds are getting used unironically on here, it stops being a case of saying it's one or two or dozens of people on Twitter and Reddit because this isn't Twitter or Reddit Remember, for years I've long talked about the Twitter/Reddit section of our fanbase being the most kneejerky, irrational, and incapable of comprehending the fact that comparing our spending to that of Chelsea or The Sheikh Mansour Team is quite possibly the worst argument anyone could possibly use and yet they use it anyway (i.e. they're currently fixating on how we didn't pay £50m for Ruben Dias last season, as if any club not playing with the cheat codes on spent £50m on a player last summer) yet the problem is so much of that is getting on here, and it just so happens KH is bringing so much of it on here yet feigning innocence when I point out just how much this topic in particular is looking like the comments of a Harry ****espout blog from four years ago The same can be said for that ESL protest last month where there were boneheads singing about how happy they'll be when Levy dies, that can't be shunted away as something ****ssoko was tweeting three or four years ago (not a joke, he legit was tweeting about how happy he'd be if Joe Lewis' yacht sank in the Thames with him on it when Lewis flew in to London a few years back) because that's out in the open - and the fact The Sun were deliberately riling up our fans to demand ENIC leave (but not riling up rival fans to oust the Glasers, FSG, Abramovich or Mansour, gee I wonder why...) again drags this out into the open and people latch onto this very quickly
An enterprising (read: bored) r/coys poster decided to pop over to Juve's subreddit to ask fans opinions of Paratici's time at the club and see what their fans had to say. Here's the gist Positives *Has an eye for young talent *Good at identifying players flying under the radar *Can close some big deals, such as Ronaldo and de Ligt *Was attempting to create a more free-flowing Juve team *Was part of a useful double act with Marotta (Marotta was good at squad building but not good at finalising deals, Paratici was good at finalising deals but not as good at squad building - which certainly sounds like a decent balance with Levy...right?) Negatives *Not so good at working out complex deals *A few of them say that he worked best with Giuseppe Marotta as a filter to weed out players would unbalance the squad *Not as good at moving players on (although this was Marotta's role for most of Paratici's time there, and for us Levy would be in charge of that) *The obvious question of whether the likes of Chiesa, Kulusevski, de Ligt etc signed for Juve because Juve are Juve rather than anything Paratici did *Some attempts at cute deals didn't work, with Ramsey being a complete dud (feign surprise...) and Rabiot has mainly justified Levy saying "**** it" when we gave up trying to negotiate with the headcase The one negative which sticks out for me is the part about Marotta sometimes having to step in and say, hold on a second, I'm pretty certain that central midfielder who is a complete passenger when the opposition has the ball isn't necessarily the right choice for the team - because let's be frank about this, there's two ways this could be an issue a.) If we don't have somebody in a similar role for us, for the sake of argument let's say Hitchen, we could end up bringing in a player for a key role yet that player skips a fair chunk of the responsibilities of that role and unbalances the team (which shall henceforth be known as "an Ndombele situation") b.) We do have somebody in that role who recognises Player X has a ton of negatives that at the very least balance out their positives and at worst actively take away from those positives so we pull the plug on the deal...which immediately gets twisted into the usual 2-3 days of incoherent yelling by the usual suspects on the blog and Twitter spheres about Levy and/or Hitchen (or whoever)
So basically you want anyone who doesn’t agree with your pro ENIC opinion to not comment on this forum because it reminds you of the mean nasty people on the other sites (still not sure what r/COYS or Harryblog thing is tbh). I’ve also never seen anyone on this site say they’ll be glad when Levy dies etc. Like Colin said though, it’s good we all have different opinions and usually can debate quite openly with each other. These buzzwords you don’t like were probably only seen by me because you copied the comments from these other places onto this forum. I genuinely only use Twitter and this forum for my Spurs info and don’t know even how to use Reddit and definitely don’t follow any blogs by anyone called Harry
No, but thanks for letting me know that if I want to open a drive-in cinema I don't have to look far for the largest projection possible Also, the fact you're asserting that you don't read Harry ****espout only reveals one thing: just how many people parrot the bilge he and the like pump out every time they either have an opportunity or, more often than not, manufacture an opportunity Also, here's a little detail about Harry ****espout: he's not obscure by any stretch of the imagination, because not only has his ****ty blog somehow been getting on NewsNow for years in spite not conforming to their ToS by never actually having news and just one lunkheaded moan after another that has no basis in reality (ask RBDB, he'd been sneaking onto the blog for years to rile up the knuckle draggers on there) but he was also brought in by The Sun to be their Spurs blogger three or four years ago, meaning that any Sun-reading Spurs fan who used their site had the privilege of having to read his ****e...at least until somebody at News International took one look at his Twitter feed and saw the amount of things that would have had The Sun's legal department working overtime and he got booted off the site PDQ
I still don’t know who he is. Maybe if you said the actual name instead of using **** then I might. Give me some credit, I would never read the Sun newspaper. I’d rather you called me a cretin again than say I did
I don't want to signal boost the dickhead, I leave that to The Sun (or, more recently, The Star) And doesn't that say it all? Of all the Spurs bloggers out there, The Sun didn't bring on anyone from SpursWeb, Cartilage Free Captain, MEHSTG, Spurs Odyssey etc, all of whom are offer balance and an understanding that they live in the real world, they brought in somebody who ****s on us almost as much as the Skyte Sports pundits do Even if you consider that most (if not all) of them would have told The Sun to bugger off, the fact they still made an offer to somebody who is as useful a source for anything Spurs-related as AFTV are really does take so much of the piss it's comparable to the time there was an NLD on MOTD and the pundits were Lee Dixon and Judas
The problem is that it's drivel that people listen to or, worse, obey thoughtlessly ...actually, that explains why they were keen to bring him in, given his followers are the exact same
