People have got used to furlough, of doing **** all and being well paid for doing **** all. Reality might hit soon we need to get jobs and the economy going again, at any cost.
I'm jealous of ye over in England, ye are nearly there. We, in Ireland, have some way to go with the vaccinations and the lockdown has been the most severe in Europe and reopening seems the slowest. There's light at the end of the tunnel now though thankfully. Our reopening really hinges on how Britain does so I hope it all works out. Hopefully I'll be over in Southampton or an away game in the Winter and all this will seem a distant memory!
Not only is he invoking the Magna Carta (despite, best I can tell, not possessing a barony), he also speaks in sovereign citizen language: The "enter into a contract"/"create joinder" thing is a hallmark of sovcits, who believe that using the right few words unlocks your true personhood, rather than the corporation that the US government controls which was secretly set up at your time of birth in your name. Interesting that it has made it across the Atlantic, given that it was originally a magical-thinking misreading of the US Constitution and common law (that was somehow exported to Canada and Australia, and now apparently the UK). We've seen some revisions in other countries, but Peru's really provides a sense of how grim the final numbers might look in some places: That puts Peru over 5000 deaths per 1m, meaning that more than 0.5% of the population has died from COVID. They're likely on the high side in terms of revisions, but worldwide we're probably comfortably over 10m dead at this point.
Oh here they go with the talk of delaying the end of lockdown because of variants. Let's get everyone in a wild state of panic again shall we and have people beg to lose their freedoms. Fear mongering ****s.
But the vaccines have broken the link between cases and hospitalisation. What is the delay now!?!? I'm really starting to lose my **** with it. Government and scientists are too scared to lose the control and grip they have on the population.
Its actually bordering on criminal how the media are getting away with this now, in my opinion. Positivity and good news doesn't sell I suppose!!! But people have lost their independent and critical thinking, and we are turning into a nation of sheep, thinking what we're told to think
