Do we think that Maguire is so critical to our chances of success that we should give him a squad place even though he is unlikely to be fit enough to play in the group stage and will then come in to a tougher game with no match practice?

Anyone else remember Bryan Robson 1986? And Captain Marvel was a bit better than Maguire…..

…or are we just short of CBS?

Yes we are, it's our weakest position.

Two out of five, or three out of six if you count Germany as West Germany plus reunited Germany (excluded from the list I’ve just seen). We are up against Spain and France (though not for the last 20 years I suspect). Two of the last three are really hard.

Maguire was in the form of his life before he got injured.
We have no world class centre backs.
Having the luxury of a 26 man squad instead of 23 has enabled Southgate to take a chance with 2 or 3 injured players.
 
If united pay 80 odd mil for Sancho then they are being robbed, don’t rate the bloke at all, Grealish looks class & also Shaw

He hasn't really done it for England yet.
Been brilliant all season in Germany apparently.
Lots of talent, especially running at players.
