we went 18months with out signing anyone. So it’s exactly what you say, planning much better. It feels like we’ve missed out on so many players we’ve been linked with that would have made a huge difference and not cost the world. - tielemens, pereira and Grealish to name 3. Didn’t we go 5 years with pretty much a 0 net spend? Would it have hurt for that to have been 20-30mill a season? A bit of speculating to accumulate.
Yep, I've said repeatedly that was a massive ****-up. We also ****ed up when spending to try and recover.
What a ****ing surprise.... it's 'Too Dear To Do' a deal with Conte...or Poch. Frankly, it doesn't matter who the next 'chump' is. Levy and Hitchen will **** him over a treat and we'll be looking for another 'chump' in a season or so... Only the worst BSoDL will be prepared to put up with any more of this bollocks. He's ****ing us up the arse, over and over again...He ****ing has to go. RIGHT NOW! LEVY OUT!
Given what Dan Kilpatrick has said about Conte not wanting to use young players, with Skipp and Tanganga the obvious examples of players he would be sidelined, this is where there was an obvious split in what the club are looking for and what Conte was looking for - and that is never going to be a good start to any relationship, meaning the flame out would probably shift ahead of schedule Although meeting our CBs on the first day of training would probably have done that as well...
If you wanna use the youngsters then why approach Conte in the first place. The cynic in me thinks it was all to do with season ticket renewals and that’s all.
You mean like he sidelined Christensen? If a player is good enough he will play for Conte like most top managers, Levy didn't like being told he would also have to spend money to improve the team.
So let's see if I have this straight... We're too slow in approaching prospective managers Except when we're quick in approaching Conte And then we're too slow in pulling the plug if he doesn't fit Except we pulled the plug after at most two days of talks Anyone want to bring up we could've signed Ruben Dias for £50m in a depressed transfer market last summer?
Levy has turned Spurs into a comedy show, with his pathetic and bumbling lurch from one manager to another, only to be told to get lost through lack of clear ambition to compete for silverware. This latest shiete show just reaffirms what we already know, ENIC have no intention to try and deliver trophies. The fans know it, Harry Kane knows it and now Conte knows it also. To Dare is Too Dear. ENIC OUT! I made my decision to not spend another penny on Spurs until ENIC fack off a while ago, and I stand by that. I feel sorry for all those that have been once again mugged into parting with their money.
Anyone who currently believes a single ****ing word that comes out of this club, needs to wake up. We are being taken to the cleaners by owners who are concentrating on The NFL franchise and the property developments at Northumberland Park. Booooo!
To be fair we’d have never have been able to afford to buy him out of Inter. My criticism of Levy in this case stems from the fact that we said we wanted one thing that wasn’t Conte, then immediately got distracted when he became available as a free agent.
There's spending money and then there's spending money If the shopping list was a commanding CB, a DM and a controlling midfielder which is what we clearly need and have for two years now that can be worked towards, albeit with sales to free up funds - and not deadwood, but players who wouldn't fit in who can bring in fees to go towards those players (i.e. Ndombele and Sanchez) On the other hand, if the shopping list was an entire back three while Tanganga and Rodon sit on the sidelines not only is that harder to work towards, but it's also refusing to use assets available to him And that last part does stick out, as we remember things like Santini freezing out Michael Carrick because he said so, or Villas-Boas looking for excuses to drop Assou-Ekotto, or more recently whole chunks of the squad getting benched by Mr Winning Mentality Wins Things for all manner of spurious reasons, and the fact is we're in no position to have talent sidelined as we can't snap our fingers and buy a handful of £30m+ players to bridge a gap in quality and have to create a backbone that will bridge the gap themselves with the right guidance
Just because you don’t agree with something, that doesn’t make it false Not all got Stockholm syndrome like you
The problem as i see it (and i freely admit my view is based totally on this forum), too many of your supporters are happy to see "nice football" when most players and managers enter the game/job to prove themselves as the best and gain honours. It's true that most clubs have very little chance of winning anything but most supporters live with the dream that they will, i have supported United through some dier times but always lived with the hope of a good cup run. FFS when we went down into Div2 i was delighted we were promoted next season as "champions" not just also rans
