It's not negativity, it's the game agents play when they want to put their player in the shop window. They don't want to alienate clubs they really hope might show interest, so they name a club they can plausibly make out to be in the market. Newly promoted clubs are ideal candidates, as we've seen on previous occasions.
That may or may not be true, Robbie, but what irritates others is that you state this as if it's definitely what happened. You think this is what happened but don't present it as your theory but instead as a definite 'fact', or FACT as ColuMike would say. That comes across as arrogance.
DD writes: "Angus Gunn for £5M? Yes please, he's a great keeper", but nobody pulls him up for stating what is simply his opinion of AG as definite fact! Just do what I do, which is read every post as prefaced by "IMO". Or in my case, "IMHO" ......... In reality, what irks people is not my presenting opinion as fact, but my opinions themselves. FACT!
DD asked the question "Angus Gunn for £5M?" and gave his answer "Yes please, he's a great keeper" It's quiet clear from the post that he is expressing his opinion to the question and that the point of his post is to ask the question of others in order to gain their views. As yet no one has responded, they might not, this doesn't mean everyone accepts his view as a fact or indeed agrees or disagrees with his view. What irks me is not whether or not you place IMO in front of everything you say, it's that you come across as someone who is unwilling to consider alternative views to your own, but even more than that it's how you are unable to reconsider or adjust your views despite the evidence or the opinions of others. In your mind your view is the only view that matters, you are the only person that can really see the wood for the trees and the possibility of you being wrong is o.
I can't believe other teams aren't in for Buendia apart from seemingly, Aston Villa and Arsenal. I thought every team here and abroad with two coins to rub together would be poking around SW's office. His stats are off the charts and in the whole scheme of things we should be about to make a fortune. I'm resigned to the fact it's time for Emi to go. He deserves a crack at the very top end of town now. I'm not sure Villa are ready to offer him that either though.
Had you expressed it as an opinion, Robbie, there wouldn't have been any problem - but you didn't. Instead you said: "And here's the bit these agents always fail to mention: " ........ but we aren't interested in Norwich". If that was true, Norwich would never sign any players. They do, so clearly what you say is not true, it's just another snide dig at our club expressed with a patronising ITK sort of arrogance.
The Kris Ajer rumour has surfaced again: https://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/kris-ajer-norwich-city-bid-20739564 That SW has been up to watch him play does give this some weight, but it may depend upon how interested Newcastle are.
No, what he's doing is answering the question affirmatively, and stating his reason, namely that AG "is a great keeper". Not "IMO he's a great keeper", just "he's a great keeper". Of course we all know it's just DD's opinion; it goes without saying. In my case too.
Surely he's asking the question of himself and then answering it, he doesn't need to put IMO in front of it to make that blatantly obvious it's his view. He's not stating a fact, He's saying Gunn is a great keeper, what does 'great' mean well that word means different things to different people, so it's clearly an opinion. A fact would be Gunn is 6'4", its either correct or not, it doesn't mean different things to different people. Anyway it's all semantics and I've failed again in my attempt to avoid getting involved in pointless arguments.
I'm basing my opinion on his performances in a Norwich shirt under Farke. Before being sold by megabucks Man City to Saints for over £10m. He's Brian's son He's a Norwich fan and I'm 100% certain that Farke would have kept hold of him after his loan ended if we could afford him. He's also got England U21 pedigree and at 25 years young he's 8 years younger than our number 1 Krul . At one stage both Krul and Mcgovern were both injured and we coped but in the Premier League that could finish our season . The only negative is the 9 goals Leicester scored against him which finished him at Saints he was escape goated but the whole team were ****e.
I don't know if we are interested in him or not, but of all the rumours I've seen so far this is the one I most hope is true.

I understand. I spell it the old-fashioned way, but that makes me seem 115 years old. So I try to avoid it.
