I'm in quite a dilemma myself Shaks, I recently cleared out the family home and was shocked to discover old Bernard Manning,Jimmy Jones and Jim Davidson video tapes, after all those years I discover my Irish mother and English father were out and out racists, too make amends I went around to all their black mates and neighbours and apologised on their behalf whilst shedding crocodile tears, then i daubed 'racists' on their gravestones before toppling it to the ground. I live in fear that I may have inherited some of their racist and sexist traits so from now on I identify myself as a Black Women Ebony Lion (formerly known as Ringo Lion)
nah, it will all end in tears and the wokies will be an afterthought in the future....for england and st. george
I had a thought recently. Africa is the richest continent for resources so why isn't it rich? There are pockets where countries are doing well but in general Africa is a poor continent. The answers I found were: Exploitation - countries and big industry have raped Africa, stripping it of resources. Corruption - the leaders in most African countries syphon off billions for themselves while their populations starve. War - there is more fighting going on in Africa than anywhere else. There are more reasons but my point is that given the above what will extra money do to help? In many cases the money is there but doesn't get to the people. It's cultural and that brings me to why I'm asking. The human race came out of Africa. Since leaving humans have evolved enormously, as we can all see. Why didn't Africa develop? This would have been before exploitation or corruption so, in the thousands of years it took the rest of the world to get to the moon, why has Africa fallen so far behind. Egypt had an empire but they're North Africa, it seems that North Africa has faired better. Interesting question.
I have had arguments on here with posters saying that Fox News is fake news. With the Wuhan lab story now unfolding, as Trump predicted, CNN and MSNBC etc are backpeddling like crazy. Trump was right, THEY are fake news.
It could simply be a case of laziness and corruption making up a large part of their DNA. It's just how they are.
I tried not to make it about race, even though I'm sure many would have read it that way. I revisited this idea because I saw the beautiful coastline of West Africa. That area could have a booming tourist industry, it could be the envy of the world, but it's too dangerous. I was having a discussion recently, after the shooting of the activist linked to BLM, about the crime in black neighbourhoods. The question came up whether they were bad neighbourhoods before they became black neighbourhoods, or did they become bad neighbourhoods? Is that question racist? Only if you think they became bad neighbourhoods. Generally, predominantly blavk neighbourhoods will vote Labour so is it a fault of the councils in these areas? The East End of London was a desperately poor area until no more than 50 years ago, now it is considered desirable.
I wasn't making it about race either. It's the same as saying Northern Europeans are harder working than Southern Europeans, and why the economies of Germany, Scandinavia etc are better than Spain, Portugal, Greece etc. I'd say it's been ingrained in the DNA of those people over the centuries. Nothing to do with Black/White.
Look at Zimbabwe they got their independence around1980 after running, in some cases terrorising and killing the white farmers from their farms and taking them over, not realising they need working, government corruption among other factors saw the deterioration of the place, they were on the phone in the mid 80's asking the UK goverment for financial help, and were told to **** off as they wanted their independence, now many of the natives are over here getting all the council houses, especially in labour run councils
