Good Morning. It's Thursday 3rd June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road. Leeds to raid Chelsea for Belgium star The Telegraph are reporting that Leeds want to sign striker Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea. The Belgium International has 22 goals in 33 appearances for Roberto Martínez's side, but has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge. Since signing from Marseille in 2016, the 33.2m signing has spent the majority of time on loan. Last season he made 18 appearances for Crystal Palace, netting twice. You'd imagine that a player in this type of form would be available on the cheap! Unfortunately not, the Blues want every penny they paid for him five years ago! Bielsa and Batshuayi worked together at Marseille, and the Argentine trusts him. Bearing that in mind, should Leeds break the bank to bring the 27yo on board? please log in to view this image Fans angry at Perraud U -turn Leeds fans have expressed their frustrations on social media regarding the collapse of the Romain Perraud deal. Whilst they recognise that the club does not want to be ripped off or taken advantage of, many feel that spending 15-18m on a player of his potential is a gamble worth taking, especially is their second or third choices will only save them 4-5 million! please log in to view this image Leeds in talks over Georgian International Talks are underway between Victor Orta and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s agent as they aim to bring the sensational winger to Elland Road. The 20yo currently applies his trade with Russian top flight outfit Rubin Kazan. According to POSTV journalist Lasha Kokiashvili, the Georgian reporter said that Leeds are in negotiations with “well-known” agent Christian Emile over a summer swoop for Kvaratskhelia! Rubin Kazan want circa 18m for the Georgian International. He has scored four goals and supplied eight assists in 23 appearances. His World class skills have not gone unnoticed with other European clubs, however it looks like Leeds have the early advantage. please log in to view this image Southgate's anger at booing A large section of fans booed the players as they took the knee during the England v Austria game last night at the Riverside Stadium! Similarly to the Champions League final, boo's and whistling could be heard ringing out throughout the ground as the players showed their respect for the the anti racism cause! “I did hear it,” “It’s not something on behalf of our black players I wanted to hear because it feels as though it’s a criticism of them. I think we have got a situation where some people seem to think it’s a political stand that they don’t agree with. That’s not the reason the players are doing it. We’re supporting each other. I was pleased that was drowned out by the majority of the crowd. “We can’t deny the fact that it happened. I think the most important thing for our players to know is all their teammates and all the staff are very supportive. I think the majority of people understand it. I think some people aren’t quite understanding the message. I suppose we’re seeing that across a number of football grounds at the moment.” Is it out and out racism, or are they protesting against what they truly believe is a political organisation like ANTIFA? These same fans haven't booed in the past, yet almost half squad is black. If they were racist, would they follow their Country home and away? What would you do if the person you have sat next to at home matches for years was actively booing taking the knee? Would you say something to them, ignore them, or report them to a steward? Would you ask to be moved? please log in to view this image
Big Bats isnt good enough for Leeds and even though he has scored goals for Belgium he has scored fk all in the Prem, so not for me and why would we pay an over inflated price for a player like him. The so-called fans upset about the Perraud deal collapsing....... get a life we dont even know if their was ever a deal on the table. At this stage just like every other transfer story there are no facts yet. The story about the Ruben Kasan player KK excites me and I hope its true, but until we see something solid, just lay back and relax and watch what happens The booing was always going to happen so Southgate just like everyone else in the media needs to get over themselves, people know this is all about virtue signalling and nothing to do with racism, but you can bet your life its making things worse
Southgate wouldn't have dared to agree with the booing, he is just following the narrative.....bats no thanks, not interested in any rumours always said when they are showing off the shirt in a photoshoot then they have signed simple
Everything Doc says. Nobody knows our targets. a select few within the club and obviously the scouts. Half of these supporters complaining won't even know what perraud looks like nevermind play. Again they just trying to big up non stories because they have nowt else to put in their pages. I'm putting money on the LB that comes to the club is nobody we have been linked too.
Morning all, Good points made already today. I had never heard of Perraud until the links started surfacing. I have also never seen him play so am I bothered that a potential deal is not happening, no. I trust in the process at Leeds these days, feels weird being able to say that, and look forward to seeing the players Orta actually unveils. Sod the rumour mill. As for Batshuayi. I put him in the Sturridge & Origi mold. I believe there is an excellent striker/player in there but something seems to have held them back. Do I believe tha Bielsa may be able to fix that and turn him into a 25 goal a season player of course I do. But at that price absoluetly not. If he became available for 10 mill then might be worth a punt.
Good morning Clubs need to stop paying these silly prices for "top six" rejects just because they've been at a decent club. Look at Sheffield United spending 23.5m on Brewster who is now goalless in 30 games for them. Bats has a decent international career so if someone wanted to take a risk on a few mil fair enough but stop paying over the odds and inflating the market for these greedy clubs. Perraud was probably just a distraction so we can get a deal done out of the limelight, that's the way we seem to play it these days. I think most people would agree with genuine action against racism but like Doc said, these things often end up being about virtue signalling than any real concern. I saw a tweet pointing out that Microsoft, Youtube, Mercedes etc have all changed their branding for Gay Pride month to show how progressive they are. They've done it across their English, Spanish, German pages etc but funnily enough they're not so keen to promote it on their middle eastern pages where it's needed the most.
It's the double standards that bug me. On the one hand they(media, FA) are having a go at supporters rightfully IMO protesting peacefully regarding the American influence of taking the knee, but don't do anything about players waving Palestinian flags which is a provocative thing to do towards the Israelis.
Just had a look at Bats record and from 2011 to 2016 he was scoring a goal every other game on average and a fantastic record in Belgium and with Marseille. In 2016 he joined Chelsea and his career was over as he hardly played and hardly scored. Sent out on loan plenty and a waste of time. Hearing that Chelsea would accept £9m and if Bielsa thinks he could get him back to his 2016 form then fine at that price, what Roberts fans need to realise is that if Bats comes Roberts will never be back up to Bamford
Southgate needs to speak to some of the fans, he may get an understanding of why they boo players, both black and white by the way when they salute a racist, terror organisation. Virtue signaling, big nosed thick twat
Pretty sure he's linked to us every transfer window lazy journalism as usual because of the Marseille/Bielsa connection. Even if it was true and we managed to get him in cheap he probably earns more than any current Leeds player, and he more than likely wouldn't take a pay cut, so that wouldn't go down too well. If Roberts gets his £20k per week contract at Leeds, and Batshuayi is on say £80k, even though I don't rate Roberts we'd be better off keeping him than buying a Chelsea reject and paying him four times more.
England are relying on the many diving, cheating ****ers they have in the side. It's the only chance they have under Southgate. Hoof it upfield for that sanctimonious twat Rashford to run on to
Morning all Haven't really been following this Euro thing so far but thought I would have a look this morning. Anyone know what group the Paddy's are in? I can see Wales & Scotland so guess they are just letting everyone play this year because of the pandemic but can't see ROI for some reason? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
Well as you know Narcos, the Rep of Ireland or the Free state are known as Micks and the team didn't make it through to the Euros and we aren't going to make it to the WC either, which I couldn't care less about. As for N.Ireland owned by England and called Paddys, I've no clue how they are doing. Although just seen Rep of Ireland are playing Andorra tonight and the manager is hoping to get his first win since he took the job, I think no wins in 9 or ten.
That might not actually be quite the surprise you think it is! One of my best mates is a mick and hates England in all sports apart from cricket for some bizarre reason? Anyway, back in March after your honourable defeat to Luxe sorry, Luxem give me a minute sorry.... Luxemb You get the gist, after THAT game, you drew with Qatar so I text my mate Del Paddy and said how did it go? Hope it wasn't an embarrassing draw or anything? He walked straight into it, on the defensive (and I quote) "nothing embarrassing about drawing with the Asian Champions". To which I replied "I meant embarrassing for the Asian Champions"
