Zero chance of him playing League One football next season IMO.

He had a very good pre season last year as well before injury. Appreciate its only pre season and not competitive game time but he looked good and I'm looking forward to seeing him fully fit and given a chance.

Quite a bit mate, but I think it would say a hell of a lot more about the ambition of the club. Here's a lad who has been here, will get offers from clubs higher up the pyramid than us, but wants to come back because he feels that we are a better medium to long term option.

It would be a hell of a statement.

don't quote me on this as the old memory is not great, but sure i read a snippet a few months back that said he was the highest rated defender in the league (using the same kind of data led approach the new regime are set on using, apparently)

I doubt it, although I also doubt that anyone has any evidence to say that he won't be good ...

... I am sure that every Sunderland supporter will hope that he's very good.

totally out of context, but Nottm Forest used to get their manager to write an end of season report
At the end of the 1977-78 season, Cloughie put a photo of the League Cup and the 1st Division trophy in an envelope and sent it to them

I don’t trust that source, but I sincerely hope it’s true.

As we know sources like this work 'hand in glove' with agents/clubs/players.

Clubs use them in the same way the police rely on snouts and vice versa ...

... they may not like each other but there has to be a degree of validity in the information.

Not every transfer comes off, for numerous reasons, but there's usually some truth in the possibility.

I was out on Sunday and bumped into Keith Downie from Sky, we had a bit crack and then soon realised I was a Sunderland fan, he told me that KLD isn’t really going to be spending a great deal, he said he’s not a conman or anything like that but he’s not just chucking money about while in league one, so going off what he said I can’t really see this being true.

The club have already said exactly that but it's quite vague.

    £2m isn't a risk and it's not a huge amount.

If the club believe that he's the key to promotion they'll go for him imo.

  14. Everyone connected with this club from KLD down knows that promotion this year is a must. I think any spending will be wise and cautious, but, if it’s the difference between signing proven quality and maybe possible or promising quality, money will be spent.

More importantly, the new self-sustaining club model is based on buying (and producing) young players who can be sold for a reasonable profit.

In light of that, buying Sanderson at £2 million with a view to being able to sell him in 3 to 4 years for up to £5 million would be a business investment.

Mate of mine works with a lad from Kosovo, says he raves about him. So much so, when he signed, the Kosovan lad bought a Sunderland shirt. But thats as much as I know.

I watched that pre-season match he played in. Against Gateshead I think but my memory can be rubbish. He looked good but the standard was clearly below first team. He was decent in the tackle and looked on the ball. Worth a chance I reckon.

We are talking about Xehmanji (can't spell his name but can spell Jumanji so i'll call him that, same as I call Onions) I take it. What little I saw of him , he is a football who can play and hold a ball. Good with either foot and I was impressed so I'm certainly looking forward to seeing him play

At 21 he's a long term investment, so KLD won't be worried about spending 2m on him, even 3m or possibly 4m. If we were in the championship and he continued to develop, he'd be worth north of 10m to 12m.

Business wise, it's a no-brainer if that is the price.

Spurs paid MK Dons £5M plus add-ons for Dele Alli back in 2015, when he was still in League One. If he goes up with us, he'll be worth a lot more than that.
