I think that could be JWP in for TAA. TAA is a set piece specialist right back that can do a shift CM. JWP is a set piece specialist CM that can play RB.

Plus we know he was very close and Southgate loves him

That’s what I thought. Commentator said that the ref waved him on, but I didn’t see it. He was off the pitch, signalling to ge subbed, then, when he realised that England had used all their subs, he wandered back on.
Maybe he’s solved Gareth’s worry about not taking him? I actually thought he wasn’t that good tonight - his distribution was no better than ok, his set pieces were poor and he got caught defensively a couple of times. Bet Gareth doesn’t replace him with James though .....

No, we have a ton of better options that do/can do what Lingard does. He's not a 'proper' CM, which is where we're terribly weak.
