What was that about The Sheikh Mansour Team not being afraid to pay the money they need to? Seen a few people saying that on here unironically...
The fact they're trying to act as if they're paupers is insulting Frankly we should ask for the whole fee upfront if they're going to take that much of the piss
I’m trying to work out Bale’s comments regarding “causing chaos” in light of the news we’ve seen in the last couple of days. reckon he already knew Zidane would be leaving Ancellotti was due to replace him? Therefore would be returning to RM to play for him?
Classic Spurs supporters pessimistic view. I had a similar thought. Truth is though, absolutely anything he said would cause chaos if it had not been agreed by all parties before hand. It's a bit of a nothing statement by him at this point.
it kinda makes sense though. we’d just finished a terrible season, the Kane talk was already in full flow, and we were (are) managerless. Imagine saying he was going back to Madrid with Zidane still in charge and none the wiser about his departure from RM. At the same time, perhaps it has nothing to do with Ancelotti, and in fact Bale already knew about our attempts to bring Poch back, as well as other managerial candidates. Therefore his decision is being made on whether we bring someone in he feels is worth sticking around for. - after the Euro’s gives us time to get a new manager in as well as some purchases.
The same could be said for him announcing he's not f@*(ing leaving as if he's in The Wolf Of Wall Street. Announcing his desire to end his career at Spurs would also cause chaos, if it hasn't been agreed already.
Carlo's more or less saying that Bale, along with Marcelo and Isco (who've also struggled for game time) plus the other returning loanees like Odegaard and Ceballos, will have parts to play next season at Madrid
Wouldn't mind either way tbh. There's a player in there somewhere but he had a largely abysmal second half of the season. However, I think he'll play better as a LWB with 3 CBs behind him, which is Conte's preferred system so if we go for the Italian, I'd keep Reguilon, rotate him and Sess in that role and look to sell Davies.
I don’t think we’d be selling Davies in that situation because he covers left sided CB in a back 3 as well as LB/LWB. He’s also HG which is an important consideration. Far more likely to be looking to move on one or two of Dier, Sanchez and Toby IMO. I agree though that in this scenario Davies is well down the pecking order.
Been **** in the second half of the season but as CK has said there's definitely a player in there and if Conte arrives with his WB formation, he'll be a player that thrives. Yeah definitely agree, if we go 343/ 352 then then Ben Davies arguably becomes a very important player as he'd be ideal at LCB. He's played it for Wales many times and I think he'd suit that system under Conte. He's not a great FB/ WB in terms of attacking but defensively he barely has any faults, probably the most reliable defender at the club right now.
Anyone else getting tired of reading Chelsea fans on social media showing they have the same number of jokes as the average transphobe?
And we wouldn't even need to replace either of them to have depth, as Sessegnon should be very well suited to playing wingback. Aurier looks like he's on the way out or we might not need to touch that side if Conte were to take over, either. Doherty's a wingback who did very well there for Wolves and our Ivorian timebomb always looks better when he's getting forward a lot.

Inter Bring & Buy Sale Watch We knew this was coming, didn't we? According to record (the Portuguese one, not the Scottish one) and regurgitated by the Mirror, Antonio Conte wants to bring Milan Skriniar, Ivan Perisic and Christian Eriksen with him from Inter... ...so take a drink each for the inevitable Perisic and Eriksen transfer stories... ...as well as Nemanja Matic and Olivier Giroud Of that entire list, the only one I believe we have genuine interest in is Skriniar, as the rest is either repeating transfer stories we've heard for the past seven years without us ever bidding for them (Perisic), names who came up in the previous three windows (Matic, Giroud) or ex-players (Eriksen) Portuguese sources: about as believable as Turkish ones
