Duxbury never actually mentioned a date - what he said was "the team improved significantly when the player left" - the only time that happened was after Capoue left. By the way, he left in 2020 - the club announced that he had gone on 30th December.
Out of that list, I'd say Doucoure, Pereyra or maybe even Deulofeu. I'd take all 3 back without hesitation for next season though
Doucs and Gerry for sure, Maxi less so. My gut feeling is that SD was talking about Capoue - a player who clearly didn't want to be here anymore, my be for a season looking at some performances... he certainly lost "focus".
Interesting (if a bit pointless) speculation. I had heard that GD was very disruptive, but Duxbury's interview completely dispelled that idea. AS seemed to be a moody player. EC turned it in and off too. Bobby had the best one-touch I've ever seen. Not always sure what to do next, but didn't seem to be the complaining type. What about DW , CD, & GM ?
He did say Welbeck was a mistake but that was probably because he was injured so much whereas at Brighton Welbeck has been fit and played well..
So a Swedish songwriter has written and recorded a song about his hero - Ken Sema. I doubt it will make the charts...
