Until someone makes an offer and puts some pound notes down the club will not be sold. Plenty can make an enquiry, plenty can leak a story to the press that they are 'interested', but until someone makes them a decent offer and has the cash to back it up, and run the club, then these 'non starters' will continue. I spoke to a bloke in the pub yesterday who said he'd love to buy Hull City. Shall I inform Burny's ? No, the bloke couldn't afford a round of drinks. That is the reality of it.
I know and that's how we have got to nearly 1000 pages of this thread. Oh and it also needs the Allams to accept the offer.
If the club is sold to people who don't reside in this country, I would have thought that it would be quite feasible for them to expect a hand over period where the current owner stays in situ until they can get their own people in. It's common sense isn't it ?
Anyone paying tens of millions to buy a football club, is unlikely to want the old owners kicking about the place after the takeover, the fact that ours are so unpopular would make it even less likely.
They might be unpopular with you but IF a deal is struck the people buying might see the current owners in a different light to what you do ? When the Allams bought the club didn't Paul Duffen hang around for a while ? I think he'd gone long before the agreed hand over period but he did hang around for a while.
With the current situation at City, unless the buyer hasn't done his homework, he'll want the Allams out the building as soon as possible.
I'm not disputing that but no-one should find it a shock IF the club is sold and Ehab or Assem are asked to hang around for a while is some capacity or another. That's all. They might not want to either, have you ever considered that option ?
Post #19912 of this thread. IT'S OFFICIAL...NOBODY HAS BOUGHT HULL CITY FROM THE ALLAMS AND NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW WHETHER THERE ARE ANY POTENTIAL BUYERS OUT THERE OR TRULY WILLING SELLERS. ON THIS THREAD ALONE, SPECULATION SEEMS TO BE THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF INSIGHT OFFERED SO FAR, NOTHING CONCRETE WHATSOEVER. WE APPROACH 20,000 POSTS WITH THE SAME LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AS WAS AVAILABLE FROM THE OUTSET. I ENJOY A GOOD THREAD BUT SOMEWHERE ALONG THE LINE, FATIGUE BEGINS TO CREEP IN...FOR ME IT WAS AROUND THE 100 PAGE MARK!!! YET HERE I AM, STILL READING BECAUSE OF THE IMPORTANCE OF THE THREAD TITLE....JUST SAYING, NOT BEING IN ANY WAY CRITICAL, BUT BOY, SUBCONSCIOUSLY I THINK I READ THIS THREAD NOW AS AN AID TO FALLING ASLEEP.
"They might not want to hang around"? Kinell, how much more proof do you want, that they 'do' want to 'hang around'?
If they look at the "current situation at City" they'll see a newly promoted Club with potential to push on,a fan base that dwindled but will return for the Championship and the odd forum where people argue that black is white...
Though you refuse to accept it, there are still a great many who will not attend while the Allams are there, unless our new owner is an idiot (which is unlikely if he can afford to pay £20m for a football club), then he'll know they need to be out of the picture as soon as possible. FACT.
I agree there are some who won't return until the Allams leave, impossible to put a figure on and wouldn't be my preferred course of action but they make their own choice(children aside) .We've also lost huge support since our departure from the top flight and our relegation the season before last. The Club has the potential to rise again and any new owner will take that into account if and when they bid.I don't see the Allams being included going forward,it's highly unlikely and unnecesary... I believe any new owner will adopt a new broom sweeps clean attitude, attempt to bring the crowds back and Hopefully take us on a push for promotion...
Erm, because they've already turned down more than reasonable offers? They're clearly making a good profit from Hull City, they're businesmen aren't they? That's what they do.
How many offers have they turned down? Who made these offers? When were these tabled? "a good profit"? We're losing money and being propped up by the residue of the Bowen cash, when that ceases we're ****ed!!
