Good Morning. It's Monday 31st May, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road West Brom slap 20m price tag on Leeds target West Brom have slapped a 20m price tag around the neck of Sam Johnson The 28yo had a phenomenal season between the sticks for the Baggies, which has attracted the attention, not just from Leeds, but West Ham and Manchester Utd too. Although conceding 76 times, the former Old Trafford youth player has been recognised for making the most saves in the Premier League. Do Leeds need another keeper of his class? Will it unsettle the balance of the squad, and put Meslier's nose out of joint? Would either keeper be happy with a place on the bench? What about Casilla. He still has another two years left on his £40,000 a week contract. His recent outings against Southampton and West Brom have shown he is more than capable as back up. What we probably didn't know is that Casilla has been instrumental in Meslier's development. Bielsa was recently quoted as saying:- “A lot of what Meslier could achieve this year is linked to how Casilla lived through it with him. They way he collaborated with him, the keepers are a group within the group with a special coach and the keepers where they spend two hours together between four of them, not 20. please log in to view this image Bee's buzzing as they win play off final Under the Captainship of Pontus Jansson, Brentford won the Championship play off final at the weekend, and will join Leeds in the top flight next term. Leading marksman Ivan Tomey scored his 33rd of the season from the penalty spot after just ten minutes. Danish midfielder Emiliano Marcondes doubled the lead on 20 minutes, driving the ball home from 15 yards. To cap off a disappointing day for Swansea, Jay Fulton was sent for an early bath on the hour mark for a two footed diving challenge from behind. How will Brentford fare in the top flight? In only the third ever all-English final in Europe’s biggest club game, have fans from both clubs showed they are fed up of having racism shoved down their throats? Should the English authorities act following this act of retaliation? Does it mean that the people that are booing are racists? please log in to view this image
Morning all At this moment in time, we don’t need a £20m keeper. He’ll probably join a Chelsea, Liverpool or City and become 3rd choice. Casilla has been a humongous waste of money as far as I’m concerned. When you look at the amount of talent sold by Brentford over the past 2-3 seasons then they’ve done fantastic really. I wouldn’t fear Brentford, they’re not as good as they were last season, it was just a far weaker Championship. I think most agree taking the knee has to stop, some who call for it might be racist, some won’t be, I think most of us can have a racist element built into us and that doesn’t mean white against black, black people can be equally as bad. At a football game you can shout “Dirty Northern Bastard” or “Southern” well for me the moment you insert either it’s a form of racism. If there was a French player and you called them a “frog” or “French twat” is that not racist? Sadly the focus is only on skin colour.
Morning all, No need to payh that for Johnstone when we have Meslier. I rate him but we have an established keeper now. All we need to do in that position is make a decison on whether Casilla is staying to see out his contract or we are letting him go and bringing in a experienced back up for Meslier to train with. Personally I didnt want Brentford or Swansea to be promoted. Cannot stand Thomas Frank. Silver lining was seeing Matt Grimes in tears at the end of the match.
Morning all if Bielsa is happy with Kiko then thats job done. If Kiko is going then spending £20m on a keeper is madness we’re not Chelsea and we bought Elia Caprile from Italy and hes had a great season for the 23s, so why not have him as back-up. Remember we also bought Dani Van Den Heuval from Holland last Summer too. We have also just released another 2 keepers so looks like at least one more will be coming in this Summer. If Caprile is moving up so too willVan Den Hueval. Just maybe we are sorted with keepers because Miazek released last Summer and Cooper Skerry and Matthew Turner this Summer. So at the moment we have Meslier, Kiko, Caprile and Van Den Hueval?
Exactly as the lads have put we don't need a keeper at this moment. I've always said spending 20m on Johnstone would be great if we looking for a number 1 but we aren't and until we are defo a nono for me. On the knee it's time to end it we know what it's about and if we keep doing it will just cause further problems. Don't really give a stuff about Brentford they will be a yoyo club at best as they won't attract good players. Yes their scouting network is top class and will find gems but they won't have the ability or be attractive enough to bring in names like Rodrigo,Llorente Raphinha. Might stay up but sooner or later it will crumble like the blades.
If you hated the ESL then you should love having Brentford in the top flight. Yes Franks needs a smack, but what the club have done in only a few short years is everything about the football pyramid. It shows you can climb to the very top from the bottom, whereas the ESL means you cant

Sam Johnson can't play out from the back. It's a non story. Brentford and Frank have done tremendously well and is a blue print on how to run a small club to maximise its league position. If they don't spend they will really struggle. As for Pontus I'm really pleased for him. He deserves to be in the PL. As for taking the knee. If it's a stand against any abuse be it racial, ageist, sexist or anything then fair enough but it should not be just for people with black skin. It's divisive and inciting and should be banned.
Should people boo if they disagree with something. If someone booed the taking of the knee, does that make them racist? Have you been at a game when fellow Leeds fans have booed their own player? If you pay the money...... However, what does it say about their affection for the club/
Taking the knee is a gimmick and divisive. I’m white so dont listen to me listen to black players, ex players and black people still involved in football. Many EFL clubs refusing to kneel and started by QPR and Les Ferdinand and how about a player who does loads of black activism and anti racist stuff, Wilfred Zaha who also refuses to kneel. The frigging premier League just virtue signalling are an embarrassment and should concentrate on administering football and keeping out of politics
It'll be embarrassing and cringeworthy at the euros when England are the only team taking the knee Luckily they'll be one of the first teams eliminated so we won't have to suffer it for too long
Nope, you're forgetting that we're in your group too. You may be learners at being eliminated, but we're experienced professionals that have a track record of failure of the ilk of Malta, Cyprus, Faeroes, etc. You know it's true!
Wonder how you feel about your pin-up girl now mate, seems the Croatia and Chech Republic have decided not use the training bases in Scotland due to leggoheads covid rules. We nippy wanted to isolate both squads so shes been told to fk off and they’ll spend their money elsewhere
Meslier starting today in the u21's for France v Holland it's live on YouTube. 1-1 last 3 mins. looks like extra time and possible pens
I'm delighted that First Minister Sturgeon is more concerned for the health of the people of Scotland than the 'needs' of a bunch of over-privileged millionaires. That's what happens when your government cares for their people. Now if it was Boris the Bastard Butcher of Britain, he'd approve anything to be more popular. He's even proved (and this is well documented) that the lives of common people mean bugger all to him. Fortunately, some of the more sensible tories (I didn't know such a thing existed!) reined him back in, no doubt pointing out that avoidable million plus dead might make them look bad at the next election.
So he tried to gain a psychological advantage and a few beered up players sang about him? Happens from Sunday League level up, non story. Good luck to him (and Pontus) from me, properly run club relying on good scouting, if you took that out of the equation where would we be now?
I’m not keen on Franks myself, no real reason for it and my dislike of him isn’t anywhere near the dislike I have for Lampard. I’ve said before Brentford have done a great job when you look at the talent they’ve sold. I didn’t really care who went up, if we’d struggled in our first season back in the top flight I’d have took a bit more notice, instead I’m confident of 6 points being the target from those coming up.
