    Very true.

Imo this is why for example a Southampton fan doesn't want to know about the difference between the clubs that regularly hammer them.

No I suppose that's true. The Premiership is a series of mini leagues in a way. Staying in it is a success for some. Winning it is a realistic ambition for just a handful.

I didn't want either of them to win, but one of them had to. I suppose.

Some good points, but "nobody gets that rich from being nice" is something of a generalisation. Even if it were universally true there's a wide variety of not niceness available in the world, both in kind and degree.
With regards to your other points, I was purely referring to success on the pitch, as opposed to their effect on the wider community.
The fact is (no disrespect to their long-standing genuine fans intended here) that both Chelsea and City were transformed from mid-table meh clubs by an avalanche of money from outside of the game. Some people may see this as just how things are, and they'd be right, but it doesn't prohibit me from expressing my disapprobation.
And I'd rather see all the rich clubs brought back to a manageable level, rather than pave the way for others to join them.
    Not gonna happen though.

When you're peering through the window of the conspicuous consumption restaurant, you don't really care how the fat bastards inside got their tickets.

It wasn't the city fans singing it though, it was the team which is a huge difference.

It may only work in games that don't involve us.

Every single opponent's games it is then......

Agreed and there is no excuse for it. However, it happened just the once, Chelsea fans boo every single time, have done for many many years too

Imo, a one off can be put down to stupidity or ignorance, repeated offences show that they're just ****s (in the true essence of the word)

Man City signing that song along with they're pathetic guard of honour doesn't paint them in glowing colours though <ok>

I've never seen Chelsea or city as rivals in an historical sense. I know that in reality and in terms of fighting for the same trophies in relatively recent times, they are. I just don't get the same buzz about those fixtures that I do with Everton or utd who I regard as our more natural rivals.

Tbh I've never understood the strength of feeling towards Chelsea or city that some of our fans have. I fully understand the money argument side of it. Those two are prime examples of what's wrong with football. Sports washing or financial doping, whatever you want to call it, is what's taking the game away from the fans and neither team should be getting the sycophantic praise from pundits and the like when they are doing the overall game more harm than good. City's fans can't even be bothered to get out and celebrate (not just this pandemic year). They just expect to win because of the huge advantage they have, it's become commonplace and a bit meaningless. I thought they were desperate for the CL trophy, maybe it's only Pep and the players. Pictures from Porto from before the game show an almost empty fan zone. Compare that to us in Madrid. Because their own fans can't seem to get worked up over big games it diminishes the spectacle to the wider audience.

Having said all that, I respect everyone's opinion. We all dislike different teams for different reasons.

I'd agree with all that. My dislike for Chelsea it's based on what I've already said; disrespect to memorial moments.

I actually quite like what Chelsea are doing on the pitch atm; they're building with quality young players.

Bit like the Man Utd side that had C.Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez up top; young and entertaining to watch but never wanting them to win.

Portugal Italy been a decent game. 3-3 abs just gone to extra time.

Ref just sent off Italian for second yellow. Nothing challenge, guy jumped up to win a header and Portugal player jumped into his arm <doh>

Not sure who commentator is, maybe Andy Townsend? Going on how silly challenge etc.. no idea what he’s on about.

Italian player just gone down clutching his face asking for red card cos guys finger nail caught him as he was trying to protect the ball. Again, Townsend saying the Italians have every right to ask for a red card there <doh>
