Well deserved. 10th attempt in playoffs. Good to see a new name in the top flight - although without strengthening could well bounce straight back down.
keep the team they have, bank the 150 million quid, get relegated, be the richest team in the championship, get promoted, bank the 150 million quid, and so on.
I don't know, it does show how the gap between the premier league plus a few yoyo clubs and the regular championship teams (who may now be subject to spending cap of 15 million?) is ever widening.
Not really anything to do with the Allams, it's where football is these days. We had a chance to be one of the early entrants but missed the bus. It will be extremely hard to get there now.
So we'd just get promoted, keep the same squad and get pumped every week? And that wouldn't concern you?Doesn't our reputation and pride count in all this? Well at least it would have nothing to do with the Allams...
We were in the Premier League. Now we have just left League one with a squad which according to the transfer thread needs strengthening to be able to compete in the Championship. The team that comes last in the Premier League will get about 150 million and some parachute payments. Championship teams are now limited to the amount of losses 30 million over three years (?) The divide is getting bigger. When the Euro Super League thing came up the FA should have let them go, in fact they should have kicked them out and used the chance to reset English football.
Peterborough get another £5 million plus form Ivan Toney deal... McAnthony bragging how wages, staff and bonuses paid for in one swoop...
I read where Brentford will be the 50th club to compete in the Premier League. I didn't realize it was that many. I sometimes wish we had promotion/relegation in Major League Baseball.
