great job, finished 2nd in the end, the track was dry for too long for me and the guy that won played the strategy to perfection, very entertaining race for sure
WOW well done on the win and 2nd place too. Well done guys. Looking at the next race it's going to be the same again, but with less chance of rain.
Thank you for the invite. After reading through this thread I managed to finish 2n, only my 3rd race! I used a 2 stop strategy on wet tires. I'm praying for rain in the next race.
race looks like the opposite to the last, so start on dry tyres and gain an advantage when it dries up, which dry tyres though I'm not sure. Overtaking is very easy and the pit time is very quick so maybe 3 stops on the softs, ill crunch the numbers over the weekend.
Disappointing for me. Was running a comfortable 10th then pitted one lap before the track dried up, so pitted twice in 2 laps, and again when it rained at the end. Should have started on wet tyres with hindsight, I take it everyone is thinking of risking starting on dry tyres for the next track?
It's really not a lot to go on (but may save you a practice lap), if you go on the screenshots section of GPRO, number 10 is of testing at Laguna Seca, and includes the initial feedback the driver gave, so it might give you an indication of where to start from. Also, practice and quali are wet, needing a wet set up, but the race is dry. Does anyone have any dry setup data? Or, is there any way to manually correct the set-up for dry conditions (eg, decrease FW by 50)? I doubt it's that simple, but worth a shot.
I have signed up! Sounds like a great idea and a good game! I am on the waiting list at the moment, how long did it take for them to approve your account guys?
If you go into the not606GPRO group and in the useful links thread and click on the first link which takes you to a GPRO database site and near the bottom click on calculate practice laps and you can do it on there. On the practices & qualifications part as well some people post their set ups which also give you a baseline to start from. Apart from quali I think I will just treat this race as a normal dry race and if it does rain not come in because I do not think it will really last long. Also when you do your fuel levels take into account that the race is quite short, about 20km shorter than most races.
Not a bad race for me I suppose. I usually finish midfield these days. managed 3 stops with 10l left at the end. But may of done better if I followed you guys and went for a Rain tire for the whole race as it seems there were only 10 dry laps
How did I miss that before - it's awesome! Thanks for pointing me towards it. Now I just need to work out how to use it properly, and find the tyre data I need.
lol DHC.. I told you about that link several days ago you b00b @Jarel258 Sent you an invite to our private not606 group here on this board where we share more sensitive data.
I will do the certification test tomorrow as I need to have a good read of the rules and everything else.
Noooo!! Don't, it's not worth it! When the season reset comes into effect in 3/4 races time, then you'll lose that money. Wait until the start of the next season, when you can make the most of it.
Oh ok so any earnings done this season will be worthless for next as the tables and money is reset? Cheers mate anyway
Wow the practice calculator is helpful. With 9 people qualified, I'm top in Q1 (ahead of championship leader) by half a second, and with loads of fuel onboard I'm 3rd overall at the moment, with a dry race setup hopefully in place. Very helpful. By the way, I googled 'GPRO Help' or something similar earlier, and this thread is remarkably high. Not sure whether the private group (which is only private to posting - anyone can read) is similarly visible. Not sure if we can do much about this, or whether we need to.
At the end of the season, all money is reset to £30m (£35m for doing every race last season), and if your driver has an overall above 85 you lose him too. You also lose any upgrades to your car or staff, and any additional sponsors.
