It does make me wonder if people actually READ posts on here or just make snap judgements and asinine comments?

To clarify, my thoughts on the game were thus:

1.) It was fairly evenly contested, with both teams cancelling each other out.

2.) The Adam foul was soft but there had been many other incidents in the game from both sides (Young swan dive, handball) which could have gone either way.

3.) Ferdinand COULD have been given a second yellow.

4.) Liverpool created more clear-cut chances but didn't take advantage.

Overall, ManU were lucky that they salvaged the point. If you feel that upset about my posts or the result that you need to slag me off, the problem is yours.

And I do look forward to all of your humble posts acknowledging the next time ManU benefit from a game-changing decision. I realise that I will probably be an old man by then.

The two incidents are compeletly different as Berbatov created the 'foul' by deliberately dragging his rear foot onto the boot of the defender (both his front foot and the ball had already passed the defenders boot.

Today Ferdinand made contact with Adam. Adam did not maunufactore the contact. Therein lies the difference.

Now was that contact sufficient to cause Adam to fall. Well the only person who can TRULY answer that is Adam - and he ain't here to do so!

I love how fans keep mentioning Youngs 'swan dive' whilst completely ignoring the fact that Downings dive in the first half was pathetic- not a United player within 2 yards of him

Im not arsed about stats. I was making a point to another poster who thought Liverpool dominated for 20 minutes.

He was wrong, we have moved on.

I dont even remember the thread it was in. Suarez will batter the mancs or something.

You're absolutely right, that was another example of players from both sides bending the rules, he did dive. Evra did himself no favours either by brandishing the card.

Thing is though, had Gerrard blazed it high and wide, this debate wouldn't be taking place. United had an equally soft one in the first half when Kelly actually got a foot on the ball, but didn't score, so it's thus a non-issue. Adam made the most of minimal contact (call it a 'dive' if you like, but in today's game, you can get away with a lot) and if I was the ref and had access to replays, I wouldn't have given it. Unfortunately it's too much a part of the game.

Maybe if the ref had given the yellow the rest of the dives wouldnt of happened?

Would have been nice but a little optimistic I think. Diving has become far too entrenched within the game, unfortunately.

So in other words you were making up a load of bull (again)

What about my view that liverpool will be rueing the missed chances in a game the could/should have won?

To add to my earlier point, the Berbatov incident is more of an issue because a penalty is an easier opportunity to score than a free-kick. I'm sure if I dug up some stats on % of PKs scored in comparison to % of Fks on the edge of the box scored, there'd be a huge difference. With a free-kick, all of the defending team still has the chance to directly prevent a goal. With a penalty, it's just the keeper.

If it bothers you so much then can I say how happy I am.

*Should have won. At least one of those chances *should* have been taken. This is a criticism of Liverpool, btw, not United...
