Their owners don’t care about the profit. The clubs are the toys of very very rich people, who have no morals. I don’t want my club to be like that. Their trophies are paid for with other peoples blood
I am not asking our owners to `compete with that`, obviously, they won`t, I am asking them to fack off. It goes without saying ENIC have taken Spurs as far as they dare, and had 20 years to do it. I want rid of ENIC and some owners with the same ambition as what City and Chelsea have, we have tried the organic route under ENIC`s thrifty principles and it has not brought any success on the pitch, and it will not bring any in the future either when you look at what we are up against. I am quite happy to join the doped clubs if it means success, we can`t beat them so join them is the way to go, it won`t come any other way. I doubt many City or Chelsea fans are worried about `tainted` trophies, the record books certainly won`t be. You will have a long wait for a trophy under ENIC pal, a very long wait, there is a reason our best player and club legend wants to leave (funnily enough to one of those clubs you seem to despise), and I am sure Harry Kane will not care one bit either when he is busy counting his medals at the end of his career.
Absolutely I do, what do you want? to be an also ran forever, we are not winning trophies under ENIC`s profit before glory ownership, seriously what is the point taking part every year and achieving nothing? Enough is enough, I`m sick of being mugged off, they won`t be getting another penny out of me and you can bet I won`t be the only one.
I couldn't disagree with you more. In fact should our club be taken over in similar fashion by similar entities then that would be the end of my support.
Yeh Spurs need to stay a traditional family club, with Joe Lewis and his £4billion lol. If he ever decided to plough a few hundred million of that into buying some decent players at Spurs I'm sure fans like Vimhawk would tear up their SkySports subscriptions
Very sad to say the least that people measure football clubs by their tally of silverware. In effect it means that most fans are fed up and wasting their time. The two richest clubs in England contest the CL final, is that a big surprise? Is it just an indictment on who is allowed to own English pro football clubs. It reflects the country that allows any dubious character to own our businesses and our institutions as well as our famous sports clubs. Some of these nasty bits of work have made fortunes from the pandemic. From selling masks to flogging scans to the NHS. They have turned England into a massive Dell boy operation If Spurs get one of these owners just like the ESL it would be time to support a proper football club and remember what the sport is really about.
Having said all that I still watched the CL final it was interesting to see a GOOD referee not falling for the usual City tactics of bringing down players and diving at any touch. I thought the ref had a terrific game.
I'm sure every Spurs fan would be delighted if he could, although that would of course be forbidden by the FFP rules. I don't feel any sense of disappointment that he doesn't though. There are very few if any PL owners who are in it for anything other than to make a return on their investment. Except if it's to hide their disreputable gains.
I agree up to a point, but he did buy a couple of Chelsea dives and I thought Rudiger should have been sent off for the GBH on de Bruyne.
Not actually a criminal or a dubious government though. If you were a cycling fan would you have been ok with your team taking drugs, because that was the only way of winning a few years back.
Which is a fair enough stance if appled to Chelsea or City as well. The only difference being their owners are prepared to spend the cash. I have no love for either City or Chelsea btw.
Funny how clubs with bottomless pits of money can spend vast sums of cash on players without having to consider how this would affect their investment in the rest of the team Seriously, can posters stop turning this forum into a Harry ****espout blog post from four years ago?
If I had the faintest idea what you are talking about it would be interesting.................... or not.
Again, are you happy to be owned by someone akin to Roman (wealth made during the nasty days of the post USSR in the 90s) , or Citeh (effectively owned by the rulers of an autocratic regime) , if it sates your desire for Spurs winning trophies ?? Or is your moral spine, like mine, already uncomfortable about the current owner having made his fortune via "black Wednesday" ??
So, post-Plastico. I could not get the lose-lose result, but accept the result as the "lesser of two evils" as : 1. it denied Pep the Citeh messiah his CL win 2. Chelsky have previously won it #2 not being true would have been the real "nightmare scenario" for me, so Citeh still not having the CL trophy their owners crave and the Pep hack pants-down fest is postponed yet again.
