Maybe I'm giving yous too much credit by saying you should be aiming higher than Eddie Howe then. He's been in the game as a player and manager for nearly 30 years and his biggest achievement was winning the English Championship.

Tbf, you're ****ed if you do and fùcked if you don't.

Celtic need healthy season ticket sales to stay afloat. There is more at stake this season than just trying to win a no mark league title. The state Celtic are in is way beyond that. If things outwith the usual footballing scenarios don't go your way they will find themselves in a very bad place indeed.

@Mind The Duck thinks it's all good though so, not to worry eh.

    Au Contraire Mon amee!

Celtic do need the money. If the masses don't renew and they don't recoup a healthy return on player sales then they are in deep shìt. Covid has killed their income stream and they still have running costs more than the rest of the SPFL clubs put together. They also have a board full of Billionaires who done nothing but take money out of the club.

You need a total rebuild from top to bottom of the footballing side. Celtic park is rusting into the ground. Litigation impending could see a massive bill that Dermot and his Irish boardroom coherts will be very unlikely to finance and will tarnish the Celtic brand forever.

You laugh at Rangers directors and their confetti shares but they have backed the club to the hilt. Do you think the Celtic board will do the same?

    Exactly.

Aldo seems to think one of the best run football businesses in Europe is about to fold but his payday loan club is flush.

Sevco shares have been compared to confetti.

"At the time of preparation, the forecast identified that the Group would require £8.8m by way of debt or equity funding by the end of season 2020-21 in order to meet its liabilities as they fall due with further funding of £14.4m required by the end of season 2021-22," the club's financial reported noted.

I know Rangers aren't flush. I also know Celtic aren't one of the best run football businesses in Europe and aren't flush as well.

Celtic are an SPFL club with EPL running costs.

    Don't you get it yet?

You will soon. Or probably not.

We made it to the end of season 20-21. We now go into season 21-22 with a hefty return on season ticket money, a wedge from Uefa for our remarkable run in the europa league, a massively improved merchandise payout and, possibly, a decent return from the sale of players. We are also in the happy position where we have everything in place ans don't have to finance a major rebuild.

    But most importantly of all...

We are covered for loss of earnings from Covid through business interruption insurance.

    Celtic aren't.

French Eddie needs to go for 30 Mill for any chance of Celtic to possibly break even this season. That's before you buy a new squad of players and a management team.

That's also before the possible Multi million pay out to victims of historical child abuse that could be on it's way in the next few months if impending litigation doesn't go their way.

I don't think you realise the actual state your club is in at the moment. Never mind though. I'm sure one of the best run football businesses in Europe will be fine.
