You are wrong there as well
From the latest figures I can find:
    London 5,666 per km2
    Sydney 433 per km2
    Auckland 1,210 per km2

Melbourne and Sydney both have populations of over 5m which would make either the second biggest city in the UK. The fact that they both sit on the edge of a country that is mostly desert is irrelevant to pandemic control.

I didn't mention UK cities at all. England as a whole is less than Sydney though.

I didn't mention any cities. @petersaxton made the claim that the relative size of countries mattered. It doesn't.

of course the relative size of countries matter
are you saying that if Australia was the same area as the UK then it wouldnt affect the covid statistics?

I can see no mechanism by which it would. Can you? What data supports the hypothesis? What mechanism?

Covid was in the UK in 2019.

The first UK Covid death was in November 2019.

We managed to go the full winter with no excess death with Covid circulating in the community.

The China’s propaganda campaign launches in the West, folk collapsing in the street, cars abandoned and the drivers lying at the roadside and then the MSM starts propagating fear.

The Govt “acts” and announces the most illogical, inhumane and evil policy the UK has ever seen and announces “Lockdown”, a word that belongs in a prison, not in a free society.

The UK Govts clear the hospitals of elderly patients, without testing them for covid, or in Scotland’s case, actually testing them, finding them positive and putting them in care homes, leading to a huge spike in excess deaths.

LD for 3 weeks was bad enough, but here we are, 15 months in and still living in a covid world.

A disease so deadly that it mainly kills folk in the UK who have exceeded the normal median death age.

Sweden is our poster child, no LD, no masks, no school closures and had its deadliest year since 2016!!

The Govts actions led directly to the excess deaths.

Many US States followed the WHO advice to copy China, the only country in the world where a quick sharp LD eradicated Covid, only for the policy to fail, like everywhere else in the world.

Texas, Florida, SD all opened up fully nearly 3 months ago, and have seen CV19 cases, hospitalisations and death continue to fall despite no mask mandate etc. Lots of other US States have followed their Freedom loving counterparts in opening up, mainly Republican States, with lower vaccination rates than the UK and continue to follow the same trends of falling rates/cases etc.

It’s obvious now that Johnson is weak and easily manipulated by The Science where if he’d stuck to his libertarian guns, he would have been a hero.

Instead his govt overseen the biggest loss of Liberty the island has ever seen, a gigantic national debt that dwarves the debt of fighting a world war for 6 years, and they are itching to issue CV19 certs and digital IDs.

Govts have failed us as people. Only the brave remain strong in the face of the psychological warfare the State has launched against its own people.

    **** CV19
    **** the Tory overlords
    **** the vaxx.

It's certainly not a principal driver of the pandemic from the data I've seen. You seem to have come to a different conclusion. I'm keen to learn why

my claim was that the size of the country matters because of population density
you said that population density doesnt matter
you can't wriggle out of it like that
    PDM - population density matters
