It won't make any difference, I don't think - the club has an amount of money and amount of players. So you have ASM, for example, who is down as an asset and as long as you sell for a bigger amount than he's written down for, that's fine. There's probably a calculation somewhere that works out what a player is worth to a club. Similarly, if you have £10m in the bank, you can spend the lot and it doesn't impact a takeover. I would guess that maybe loans are the only things that won't happen? Because there's no residual value in loaning a player, if a takeover is close I don't think loans will happen, and vice versa. Might be wrong, but that seems logical to me, that if we start bringing in players on loan - rental agreements, no residual value, managers decision - we aren't being taken over.
The value is not really the issue. It’s the salary and signing on costs. The club won’t make commitments on players at the moment that won’t fit in with a new managers plans etc. So the club will probably just sit back and wait for the arbitration ruling.
I see they reckon that Ronaldo is going back to Madrid. Probably the reason why Zidane has walked. Bale they reckon is going to Either manu or Chelsea. So that means we are probably signing Tom Davies on loan.
People need to accept where we are imo! Bruce was right when he said that.. There's still some fans living under the notion that Mike ashley can compete more financially, by the truth is he doesn't take money out the club and he runs it correctly. There's clubs out there spending money they don't have. One cm will do me! The name and the price is irrelevant
Agree. The simple fact is the club has no money to spend. Ashley won’t put money in. He doesn’t need to and the reality is a club should sustain itself. Where he gets it wrong is the commercial side and staffing. He hasn’t increased the commercial deals in line with other PL clubs. But I suspect most clubs will be loaning players this pre season. More than ever to shave wage costs for the loaning clubs and save transfer costs for the loaning clubs. Transfer fees I suspect in general will fall in the future and I also believe that wage costs will aswell. It is the perfect time for the takeover for us.
It's not even Mike's fault anymore. He's put in alot of money over the last few windows and he sold the club.
The poor commercials and the lack of investment in the facilities to allow the club to generate more cash itself is still MA's fault. If he did this one time investment he'd not have to put extra in the kitty
Thankfully he hates Ashley... I think ashley will be more than happy with Bruce anyway tbh. He's done the job whether the fans like it or not they lost that argument and are just making themselves look silly at present. By all means want him out, but the opportunity isn't there at present.. Wait until he's doing badly or it looks bad. That'll get read and turned on to trolling, but rather than just assert that please present an argument to the contrary. I just say what I see im not here to blow smoke up the fanbases arse.. I think they've been shown to be wrong this season..
Jeff Hendrick? Jonjo Shelvey? If we were buying those two would you still say that? There are plenty more like them out there.
Indeed, but there's plenty of good enough cms out there to be discovered. I just like to see them play and the current situation in cm is far worse than some people seem to think. The Longstaffs, Hayden and hendrix are all way out of their depth and Shelvey needs replacing because he's too one dimensional. I just think we've not got too much of an issue elsewhere. Just like Bruce maintained if we keep our best players fit we'll be fine.
