Good Morning. It's Thursday 27th May, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    Could Leeds takeover be imminent

The San Fran 49ers may be considering a full takeover at Leeds, according to YEP Chief Football writer Graham Smythe. In the latest episode of 'the Inside Elland Road podcast' Smythe strongly suggests that adding billionaire Peter Lowy to the Leeds Utd board last week may be a signal that Radrizzani is ready to cash in!

Australian Lowy 62, is a lifelong Leeds fan, major financial contributor to the 49ers and Chairman of the Lowy group (a private investment business with offices in New York, Los Angeles and Sydney. With a long-term focus on listed equities, real estate and technology). His family have a net worth of $8 billion or £5,671,800,000.00. Peter himself, is worth $5.3 billion.

    Smythe was quoted as saying:-

“three potential sources of wealth in the boardroom”. Lowy, who comes from a billionaire family, is a Leeds fan and a big investor in the 49ers Enterprises. “The real big hitters were in the boardroom [last Sunday]. Peter Lowy, a lifelong supporter of Leeds, from a family with wealth in the billions rather than millions.

“From that kind of ‘we could buy this place tomorrow without doing due diligence’ kind of wealth, and also a family who have previously investigated buying Leeds United. “I’d love to know what his future plans and intentions are. Is he happy to just be here and to be a part of it, or do his family want to finish what they started and look into taking over?

“Also, the fact that he’s come in with the 49ers is interesting. I know Andrea Radrizzani had another couple of allies added to the board, but Lowy is the one who made most eyebrows shoot up. “Now Leeds have three potential sources of wealth in the boardroom. I think the interesting thing is how long Andrea Radrizzani plans to be in charge and the major owner.

“Whether he sees it as long term or if he’s starting to think of an exit plan. You have to believe the 49ers are considering whether they’re the people to run this ship. And Lowy as well, what’s he thinking about the club and where he lies in Leeds’ future? Leeds are in good shape though. There are enough people involved with significant means involved now.”

Leeds close in on Brazilian playmaker

Leeds United are already in negotiations to bring West Brom's attacking midfielder Matheus Pereira to Elland Road this summer.

In a poor season for the Baggies, Pereira has been their stand out player contributing six assists and netting eleven times. It has been reported that Victor Orta has made contact with Pereira's agent Jolden Vergette, and are discussing terms.

The 25yo Brazilian was signed from Portugese outfit Sporting CP last season for £8.25m, having impressed them on loan the season before. They won't won't to lose their star player, but having been relegated to the Championship, Leeds fans will know all too well you have to make sacrifices!

Setting the record straight on Raphinha

You may have read a recent interview that ESPN had with Raphinha stating 'It is difficult to define how I feel when I hear speculation about giant teams like Liverpool and Manchester United interested in signing me'.

Fortunately, the YEP have the full transcript, which once read will leave Leeds fans in no doubt that his future belongs at Elland Road!

"It is difficult to define how I feel when I hear speculation about giant teams like Liverpool and Manchester United interested in signing me," "I grew up watching these teams on television. "I saw Rooney, Van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo, but I also saw Gerrard, as well as others like Henry, Deco, Lampard.

"There are many players of such quality that it is difficult to say if I have mirrored one of them. "I think I mirrored the championship, you know? "I loved watching and dreamed of playing here. "And today I'm making people happy with my football.

I am not only talking about the other clubs, but also Leeds, who was the one who bet on me. "They are all very happy, including the fans who seem to have a great affection for me. "I have a contract for another four years and I don't even think about leaving here exactly because of that: I'm happy and making others happy."

"It's funny that I have friends in both clubs. (Manchester United and Liverpool) "Bruno Fernandes played with me for a year that seemed like many more at Sporting. "He became almost an older brother. We talk every day, but no football, just our antics.

"Even from a distance, it helps me a lot. "At Manchester United there's Alex Telles and Fred, who's from the south too. "But in Liverpool there is Alisson who is from the south too, so everything stays the same. There is still Fabinho, who is from the same as Firmino and I. "In fact, did you know that Firmino was the first guy who texted me when I came here? He's a great friend."

    Morning all,

It's good that we now have some financial big hitters on board, and if it helps with the stadium redevelopment then great. But I hope we don't go down the route of buying players for £80m+ and breaking the wage structure thereby upsetting the harmony within the group.

We're doing fantastically well with how we're establishing ourselves in the PL by adding a few players of genuine quality each season without breaking the bank, plus real potential as back up in the u23's.

In other words, doing things in style, on and off the pitch.

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

the Brazilian kid at WBA is going to be way over priced and expected to be between £30m-£40m so not worth it. The other player I would like from there although hes owned by Chelsea is Connor Galagher but again too pricey.

i wonder how much money we will actually spend because we will pay £11m for Harrison and then we need at least 2 more quality players and Im guessing they will come from overseas as much cheaper. Inter Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid are selling loads of players at cut price and only recruiting freebies on reduced wages. France has big problems with no tv deal in place properly so many French clubs need to sell. im sure Orta is doing some damage behind the scenes and remember we can have a couple of loan players?

Gallagher won't get game time back at Chelsea and they won't want him playing Championship football so we could get him in on loan <confused> but would Chelsea lend him to a rival title-challenger? <whistle>

Edit: He wouldn't get much game-time at Leeds either so not going to happen.

Manegerial merry-go round taking shape now as Allegri will end up at Inter Real Madrid or anywhere he wants, Conte leaves Inter and wont take Spurs role without guarantees of cash so where will he end up. Zidane leaves Real Madrid and could end up at Inter but why when they have no cash just like Madrid, Pochetino now wanted back at Spurs but why would he leave PSG after winning 2 troohies, getting runner up in the league and semi finals of Champions League. At home there are jobs going at Sheff Utd, Palace, will Woody keep his job at Bournemouth the guy who beat PSG to the French title with Lille has left the club to join the club my nephew works at in Nice, so another job going there, the guy who left Roma will need a new gig probably in Italy or Spain, Gatusso has left Napoli but probably walking straight into another top Italian gig..... not seen anyone on the continent even mention getting Big Mick or Big Sam in yet, or even mentioned Warnock at all

I'd love Pereira here. I always liked him in the championship and now he's progressed into a prem player. Think he would be a great fit into our squad. If you could get him for 30M that's a snip in today's market. But with villa and west ham also dabbling they could make a bidding war.
As on the board I can't see Radz leaving just yet he's done to much hard work just to let go.
He didn't look a man wanting to throw it all in at the awards.
I think we will have him for a bit longer yet.
I'm also very happy to have him he's still building this club inside and out.

I think their is no danger of that either, with Bielsa in charge he would rather a £5-10m player or someone from the u23's which would fit into the system he has built, a system which (over the next few years) will get Leeds back to the very top, so i for one am very happy with where we are atm under Bielsa, and where were sailing to,steady but surely is the way, their seems to be complete harmony & a togetherness at LS1 with everyone from the top down singing from the same hymn sheet, so no £80m+ Billy big bollox players getting us out of tune, for an instant success, which may or may not happen, so if that's what some Leeds fans are looking forward to over the coming transfer windows, i think their going to be sorely disappointed.

    Morning all,

So listening to Taalkshite just now and they are discussing the current manager merry go round. Conte & Zidane leaving their jobs and Spurs trying to entice Poch back. Isnt it great not having to worry about such things. We know we have one of the best coaches in the world who will just kick on with planning on how to make us better again next season.

On the make up of the Leeds Utd Board and ownership I believe Radz will leave and sell up as soon as he has achieved his main goals. 1) strong enough and stable enough to survive in the Premier League and be able to challenge for top 6 positions. 2) get the club owning other football clubs around the world along the lines of Red Bull, City Football Group, QSI Group or even the group that now own Barnsley.

Imagine being so arrogant that you thought your team should be challenging for Champions League. So because it wasnt you sack your manager who got you promoted to the Premier League and kept you there, but sacked because you never got into Europe. Quickly relegated and then manager after manager not being able to get you promoted again. Parachute Payments now ending and toughshit you deserve all your pain

about time we had some big money backers in the club, after the shyster bates and the potless gfh who didn't seemingly own a bedouin tent and mr lowy is lifelong so what's not to like ! as for raph you will get speculation from the click baits especially after a very good season and relatively cheap price we paid, very much doubt the boy is going anywhere.
as for poor old ole at scumster well he left his subs way to late, emery was a better tactician and thankfully stopped the ****sters from getting their hands on the prize,
i sent a well done card to de gea to congratulate him on his spot kick and mentioned that i hoped he enjoyed his bribery money from his fellow spaniards !<whistle>

Today is the day we are supposed to publish our “Retained List”:Liverpool have released half a dozen academy kids this morning and now Spurs have released a lot more than that. First 2 are first teamers.....
