Anyone else think the delay in releasing next seasons new strips is because of the takeover.

Every season (I might be wrong here so please correct me) I’m sure we used to wear the new kits on the last home game of the season.

No they always seem to release them late

 

The new kit will be worn for the very first time on Sunday, 26th July 2020, when Newcastle United host Premier League champions Liverpool in the final match of the current 2019/20 campaign - and it will go on sale to supporters on the same day.

The release of the kit was delayed to co-incident with the last game of the season.

That is what I meant mate. Last season was released on last home game. Same in seasons prior.

I personally think it’s because of the takeover and the fun88 sponsor. Gambling is illegal in saudi.

Takeover happens. New front of shirt sponsor deal worth 50m a year with Aramco.

very good point with regards the sponsor but surely Aramco could just sponsor us anyway for just a season so that issue is dealt with?

 

Well I think we are tied in with fun 88 for another year at 5m. However if the takeover goes through I’m sure a negotiation could be done and the bee sponsor would pay much more.

 

There's no point worrying about it
