    WATFORD 0 v 2 CRYSTAL PALACE

Craig Forsyth - caution 36 mín.

    Wilfried Zaha - goal 66 mín. 0:1
Adrian Mariappa - caution 83 mín.
    Jermaine Easter - goal 90+2 mín. 0:2

The Hornets welcome a to Vicarage Road one of the few teams to have bettered Brighton this season, the bragging rights in along the M23 go to Crystal Palace.

    Watford

    • The Manager – Sean Dyche about his first ten matches as manager.

    sean2.jpg

“My assessment so far, mixing in everything that's happened in the summer and across the early weeks, would be that we've done okay and that we can do a lot better.”

“It's my feeling that we should have had more points on the board that we've currently got, for a variety of reasons. Last international break we were in the bottom three, this time we're a win outside that area, and we want to keep moving in an upward direction of course.”

    • The Hornets

Only Stephen McGinn of the regular first team is out and he is doing light training now

Update on the Hornet's latest statistics

    Crystal Palace

    • The Manager – Dougie Freeman on the West Ham game.

    Dougie Freedman.jpg

“The 2-2 draw was a fair result on reflection, two teams playing two different ways. They are a physical powerful team knocking balls into the box against our side who played with a guile and sharpness to create chances. It finished with a decent result for us and I think it was a fair reflection over the 90 minutes.”

"Some of our players went into the game as young boys and came out as men because West Ham are a very experienced side and you have to stand up against them and I think we did that. It's part of the game and you have to learn how to do that. Later on in the match we got our passing going and looked strong physically in terms of running power and very played our part in the draw."

    • The Eagles

LeeHills (knee), Kagisho Dikgacoi (hamstring) and Owen Garvan (hip) are did not play against Hull City but have had two weeks to recover. Nathaniel Clyne should be ready for his first match of the season. Jermaine Easter has a collection of three cautions or two depending where you look.

    Who will win?

    Current form
After struggling for some years CrystalPalace are now doing very well. The Eagles started well but recently have only been winning every second game, with a few draws. Palace score well but do lose one goal each game on average. Watford have on the other hand lurched from one almost success to another marked with two disasters against West Ham United and Southampton, where they did well but the scores flattered the winners.

Akureyri's Prediction: 2-0 The law of average says Watford must win again soon and Saturday will be that day.

Another great thread Ak, thanks. I'm going for my usual 3-1, and with our new loanee, i'm feeling more confident than usual though i do think we're all pinning our hopes on him..and that's a lot of pressure for someone who is with us just to get match fit!

Home against Palace + watching France and Australia lose + potentially wet Grand Prix = a great sporting weekend.

If hindsight isn't allowed, this is my opinion the biggest set of six matches since Aidy Boothroyd left the club (using hindsight I would obviously go for the six league wins in a row).

Great work as always AK. I am squeezing this in between visiting family on the saturday and then seeing a friend and going to dinner with her and her family on sunday! It will be a long (but hopefully victorious) weekend.

Good thread Ak, as always <ok>

Not confident on this one, think it will be another one where we struggle to break their team down, and we will look prone to the counter attack. I think I'll go for a 2-2, with us going behind twice!

Seems to be a mixed view so far split between a draw and a win (nobody going for a Palace win yet!). It will be close but think we can win it. 2-1 to the Golden Boys.

Think Dyche will play the same team as against Millwall expect Kightly will come on the left wing.

Been getting used to uni life so have been absent for a couple of weeks...I think we can get a positive result from this. Palace are a good team and they have good supporters, but with pace on our wings we could be a real threat with crosses etc. Though in my opinion I think Iwelumo should start and take advantage the likes of Yeates and Kightly will put into the box! Our defence has looked solid, so it will be tight but I'm going for a 2-1 Watford win

It's going to be a difficult game, they have had decent results so far this season, Brighton and west ham to name two, 1.1 I'm going for .

This is one of those games that is going to shape our season. A good win and it sets us up nicely looking at the good end of the table and restoring some confidence. Another loss and confidence will be really low and it could be a hard winter.

Going to be positive my heart says 3-1 win to the Golden Boys however head tells me 2-2 draw.

Lets hope my heart wins out. <party><party>

Agree with you lady H,I've already put this down as 3-1 on the prediction league thread and I also add my thanks to AK for putting himself out week in week out to produce this.

I have a problem today. I can look after the most of first half and perhaps the end of the second. Little Ak is out with a friend on her farm which is 25km away.

According to twitter, Deeney's the one who's been dropped to make way for Kightly.

Will he ever have a career here? :(

I think that will be a NO! Which is a shame really, he has not had that much of a chance to play up front as he has been used as a winger more than not!
