Love this. In fact, he does this in almost every match. Every goal we score, he gets involved in the celebrations and I was literally just watching it this morning and I noticed one of the goals vs Burnley and Thiago rushes to the celebration and gets everyone involved and included. He also talks a lot on the pitch (from what I could gather) and just has this air of authority and leadership about him.
Rolls Royce of a midfielder. Everything he does on the pitch ooozes class. (part from tackling) No coincidence we won most of our games when he had fab behind him in the dm role. Fab Thiago hendo Bangin midfield there.
The tackling one is very interesting. He's not a good tackler in the sense of winning the ball back as a primary DM - Fabinho is immense in the aspect but Thiago excels in pressing, intercepting, and nicking the ball back. Which is why he looked quite poor when Fabinho wasn't there because he was being asked to be a main ball winner, which is not his game. When he doesn't have to worry about being the main ball winner / cruncher, he actually tops our pressing stats this season (even ahead of Fabinho). He and Fabinho have struck up an amazing partnership in which we really saw Thiago shine. Have to also bear in mind that he wasn't as good during our infamous Jan / Feb period but he was coming off the back of a horrific injury. Now he's got some rhythm and he's got a partner, and he's just sublime. Looking at defensive stats alone below (and bear in mind Fabinho did play a lot of games in defence so his numbers will be skewed), Thiago excels in most of them.
To be fair to Thiago, he has improved massively. One of the worst players through our **** spell, but one of the best in our recent run
I never doubted he'd come good. We were in an awful place when he came back from injury. That's all it was.
Slightly harsh IMO because I felt he was still passing forward and playing quickly. Issue is that the midfield (and the whole team for that matter) had no balance. He was being asked to be the main ball winner, which clearly isn't his game. No doubt he wasn't in the best form himself during that period - losing the ball more, his little shimmies weren't coming off. What will be interesting is what Klopp does when Hendo is back because Hendo's best position is the right side of the midfield 3 but this is where Thiago has excelled over the past 10 games and he has developed a frightening partnership with Salah and Trent down that side.
Thiago has slotted straight in and looks and plays like he's been in the team forever. He's so expressive in his play and in his reactions. His pure joy when Alisson scored was great to see.
Yeh his too. It's one of the reasons why team sports are good for teaching life lessons. All colours and creeds come together with the same objectives in mind.
