Cheers Shaks, just looked it up. Apparently they won the playoffs, beating Wolves and Sunderland. So when he said Palace u23's were great he was exaggerating slightly thinking I wouldn't be sad enough to look into it How wrong he was....I'm very sad
So Palace finished 23 points behind Leeds, so don't see how they won their league with ease? Was he talking about the women's team?
Basically he was talking **** as it turns out he's pissed off with Palace though as they've put a BLM banner right where he usually sits Oh and btw women's football doesn't count
Oh yeah I remember that now think we had a player sent off and were still all over them. I won't tell him about that result

Forza the season before we were not in the Premier League 2 which is only for elite Cat1 status academies. In the league we played in there are 2 sections a north and a south. We won the north and then played in the final between top of the north and south leagues. We won that too. So that season we won the lot. this season in Prem2 there is one league and the winner is promoted to Prem1. That was Leeds and as Shaks rightly shows Palace were gash and we smashed them daft twice. They got into the play offs and the play off winners also get promoted
On a non Leeds topic. When applying for jobs how long after sending in your application would you wait without hearing anything back beofre accepting you have not been successful?
A short while after I got my first job, as a trainee Computer Operator, I found out how the application machine worked. Over 1000 people applied for the 4 jobs & I was really chuffed with myself. Then I got more details to deflate me - they never even looked at the majority of the applications. All they did was grab a bundle of applications & picked the first 20 possibles as a shortlist. When you think of it, none of the candidates had any skills whatsoever to make us stand out, it being the first job for most of us. I think the reason I got the job was that my interview was memorable. Whilst being interviewed by the Chief Op, the Ops Manager wandered into the room, *** hanging out of mouth (in a non-smoking area) & swearing like I'd never heard swearing before. There wasn't a seat, so he sat/balanced on top of a tall, open, plastic bin. He was a tall man & very slim, & the bugger actually slipped right into the bin, to the extent that all he could see in front of him was his knees. Me & the Chief Op watched him wriggle helplessly, & eventually had to get up & help him out. I was pissing myself laughing. The Chief Op wasn't - don't think he ever cracked a smile in the 12 years I was there, so I thought I'd blown it. I was later told it was my open honesty in laughing that secured the job, as honesty was the most prized skill for a trainee. As a postscript, my dad gave me a lift into Glasgow for my first day. We ended up in a car accident, making me very late. Worse than that, I had a bad flu at the time & that & the accident had me gibbering like a maniac. I reported to the Chief Ops office to find him & the Ops Manager, & the latter laid into me, insisting I feck off home & how dare I come in & affect his staff with my fever etc. Lots of swear words per sentence & an aggressive Glasgow accent convinced my I'd been sacked on the spot - it was that bad! My mother had to phone them up to find out the score. An avid church-goer from a sheltered life, she came off the phone with the good news, but white as a sheet, 'cos it was Dougie the Ops Manager she'd got through to & she'd never heard swearing like it. She never did find out that a few weeks later that Dougie had taught me all he knew, swearing-wise, so much so that I could strip paint with my tirades. But never at home. Ever. Ma would have killed me.
As I have said on a few different posts including a few weekend threads, the financial situation in European football is dire. Barcelona are only signing freebies and have got to sell at least 6 top existing players (no chance of getting what they are worth) also the freebies going in all have to take a wage reduction. Real Madrid are in exactly the same situation. Antonio Conti has just won the Scudetto for Juventus and the club want him to sign a new deal. He was told he had to sell €80m worth of players, so he has just told them to fk off and walked out. Will Spurs try and get him? As I have been saying there are plenty of deals around this Summer as top players from top clubs are now not worth what they were last season
Oh dear the cops of Hillsborough have been acquitted, there will now be an enquiry over the acquitted enquiry, and then an appeal over the second enquiry why the first enquiry was acquitted, then we may have to listen to Tobes the Toby Jug, now that a reason for an enquiry ffs
The year is now 2042 and everyone involved at Hillsborough is dead, but some scouse paper is demanding that PM Gary Lineker persecutes all families of police who were involved. “Hanging is too good for for some of these grandchildren” says Gary
