I think we did have a thread many moons ago but things got so exciting with the first team, nobody was interested in the youngsters <laugh>

I see Klopp was at the game the other night, hope he didn't put them off :bandit:

I missed that game even tho I posted it <laugh><doh>

Hoping young Harvey Elliott gets some games this year for us. High hopes for him but maybe a loan against a prem team this time would be an option. Prem team loan or keep him around the squad imo

To be fair I think David Healy abs Niall Quinn were next in line to get a call up for Northern Ireland.

ON this one. Wales did this to Woodburn and capped him and then that secured his services.

This lad is a northern irish player and as well all know players are poached all the time so the small the country the more they are willing to lock a player in early.

England have "poached" in theory rice and grealish, as rice has 3 irish senior friendly caps so its their loss that they failed to lock either down early.

I think NI are wise in doing it, they only need a time waste sub at the end of a competitive match.

If you look at things there's obviously many levels in the youth system but u16, u18 and u23s are where its at.

to that end we've mostly bought in guys to supplement and there are some young local lads who were on display Monday.

Balagizi looked decent but he's a big lad and powerful so does it translate to senior football. who knows?

Musialowski was brought in last summer and looks in interesting little player but is a long way from a top player despite a couple flash goals.

we've gievneo ut some contracts but I don't see too much that would say to me these guys will be senior players for us.

    who knows.

We got trent and curtis out of the current crop and william's came from nowhere etc so who knows who grabs a chance next but theres not really a guy that you'd be waiting for for 5 years like when owen or gerrard or even curtis jones was at.

Elliott and musialowski are bough in talents who might be great, might just make us money.
