Trippier probably performs best for England out of all the other RBs, was arguably England's best player at the World Cup. Wouldn't be surprised if he's the starting RB, though that's me jinxing him now and he'll get culled when the 33 drops to 26.

I like the look of the squad though, got some exciting players and there isn't anyone who's been left out who I'd say 100% should've been other than maybe Ings who I think is probably England's second best striker after Kane but DCL and Watkins are good players too so it ain't like he's been massively shafted for turd.

Just hope Southgate don't go with 5ATB or plays two DMs in a 4231 - though I think he will. Hoping Mount starts alongside Rice or Henderson and then have Grealish and Foden alongside one of Rashford/ Sancho/ Sterling behind Kane.

That world cup semi final experience has him nailed on, surely?

He can't possibly take all four so it has to be between James and TAA who don't make the cut.

It would be James for me.

Well, it should be both really, with AWB in as a defender who can play right side of a three, but that's just another story altogether.

Why would you pick James over TAA? Why would you pick anyone over TAA?

Curious to hear your reasoning behind it.

You've misread it, I said James is the one that misses out.

Of the needless amount of right back's that Southgate has picked, if he cuts it to three TAA is in, for me.

He still would be if I was picking my own three tbf, as i'd be picking him, AWB and Trippier.

Walker owns that RB spot, because he just does. We’re about 6 weeks out from Trent’s latest disaster class against the worst Real Madrid side in history, so let’s not pretend he’s turned into Cafu in the last few weeks either.

The biggest problem we will have is whether Maguire makes the cut, if he’s injured then England are ****ed cos the rest of the full backs are awful.

They have selective memories. Most of them were calling out his defensive frailties not long back, when he was on a wretched run of form. Remember him conceding possession what 37 or 38 times in one game wasn’t it?

He got rightly dropped from the England squad as he was bang out of form and he’d been exposed defensively against a whole host of sides.

That maybe spurred him in and he finished the season well, and has rightly been called back up for the initial squad. But all of this, looks at the stats, he’s always been boss and anyone who says otherwise is bitter, bollocks, is just that.

Yep, because Kyle Walker is solid defensively lollll

And the stat about losing possession makes me laugh - he constantly loses possession in most games - do you know why? Because he plays a lot of high risk balls. That's the trade off between keeping the ball and playing safe, and being risky to create chances. Trent is literally creating chances at a better rate than most attackers.

And it's funny how you justify a drop from the squad because on a small period but don't want to mention the 2-3 years of consistent top performances. As I say, it's all media driven narrative.

Yep - one bad game in the first leg but then no mention of his masterclass in the second leg? As per usual, people notice the bad performances but turn a blind eye to the consistent good performances. Let's not forget - he had COVID earlier this season and took some time to get back to peak levels.

Yeah 37 ‘high risk balls’ in 90 minutes that didn’t find their target, or in other words, 37 ****e passes.

He had COVID in pre season yet Klopp picked him every week, then decided to blame his poor form on it after Christmas.

Utter drivel, Madrid set up completely differently second leg. Masterclass ffs, they saw what you did to Barca and they turned up with a completely different game plan and shut you lot down with their worst squad in living memory.

Trent going forward nobody can argue with, but 1-on-1 he’s a clown, he gets turned inside out by any clever footballing brain. He also reads the game pretty well and can anticipate a ball so I’d have him in the side, but against a top side he’d not even make my bench because he’s the one in that squad with the clown performance in him.

Bro you never have anything constructive to add because you don’t talk football, you just make HIAG-esq jokes. Retrieving stats from Twitter is as best you get, where’s your own opinion?

Have I mentioned AWB once? I don’t think I’d pick the lad either tbh, he does one thing better than any other player but still has a lot to learn so for me I’d leave him out & if he goes to play for Congo then so be it.

I’d also leave Maguire, Grealish and Henderson out because when has taking players who are recovering from injury ever worked well?

I’d leave out those lot and JWP because he’s just set pieces and offers nowt else, leave Coady cos he’s ****e, and Watkins and Saka would probably lose their spots as well, as I don’t see them getting any minutes at all.

Saka is quality IMO - he deserves to be there.
