Good Morning. It's Wednesday 26th May, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Orta 'on verge of securing Perraud deal' The transfer market not have opened yet but Leeds Director of football Victor Orta is already closing in on his first signing. A deal to bring exciting left back Romain Perraud to Elland Road are in advanced stages, and sources close to Leeds expect the deal to be concluded once the transfer window opens. He started his career with Nice on the French Riviera at the age of 16. He moved to Brest two years ago for a fee of less than 2m. Since his arrival at the Stade Francis-Le Blé, the former U17-U20 International has been in fine form. In 36 appearances this season, Perraud has seven assists and three goals to his name. Now 23, Perraud has demonstrated not just phenomenal attacking play, but could be the strongest left back Leeds have had since Tony Dorigo! please log in to view this image Harrison to put pen to paper next week Jack Harrison will finally put pen to paper and sign a permanent deal with Leeds Utd on July 1. It's fair to say that he has has an outstanding season with the Whites following their arrival in the top flight. The 23yo has blossomed during his three year tenure at Elland Road and was unfortunate not to be named in Gareth Southgate's Euro squad. Last Summer, the Manchester City hierarchy were nice enough to extend Harrison's loan and Leeds option to buy Harrison for a further twelve months to allow the Whites to use the money to buy Raphinha! With the price tag set at circa 12m, its fair to say Leeds have got themselves a bargain. please log in to view this image What do you miss most on match day For those of you that attend football matches, what have you missed the most of the last 442 days? Morning all, Really pleased to see the Harrison deal finalised. £12 million is an absolute steal when compared to the other players around him stats wise this season.
Question 2 of the 30 day football quiz. Favourite defender who currently plays but not for your team?
Morning all Gaereth Southgate has always said you get into the England squad on merit. Well Southgate yet again you prove yourself to be a lying incompetent. The 2nd best English striker ON MERIT is Bamford he scored more goals, more regular and has way more assists than anyone except Kane. Danny Ings was a correct choice not to take because on merit he has done nothing in the last part of the season, but neither has the Everton kid. When I look at how unlucky Bamford was, it made me think about our first team squad. We had Ayling and Harrison mentioned as possibles for England as well as Bamford and Phillips so potentially 4 players good enough for England. A Polish International, German International, 2 Spanish Internationals, French U21 star, but ignoring Roberts, Alioski and Coopers International status we have a solid base of 9 players good enough for top International sides, without thinking about Raphinha. underneath this lot you also have kids who play for England U16, U18, U20s like Greenwood, Drameh, Gelhardt, Kenneh, Cresswell and quite a few more. This seems to be a great base for a successful Premier League team and any additions who land this Summer
Imagine if an english striker with 17 goals and 7 assists playing for the Scum, Liverpool or City was omitted. The press would be in uproar.
Scotland have too many strikers, so we can gift you a few. How about McBurnie & Burke for starters? Please? Pretty please? Ok, now I'm begging! No, really, lying on the floor, begging as loud as I can!
Don't understand at all why Bammers didn't get a call up to the 33. 2nd to only Harry Kane this season. You also pick players in current good form bammers again above alot of these. Obviously doesn't like him. In a selfish way for Leeds Rodri and Bammers now will get some time away from football to recharge their batteries and come back fresh and raring to go. Let's be honest even if Bammers got the call all he would be doing is sit on the bench. But that's the selfish Leeds in me speaking.
I agree mate, he'll learn nothing from Southgate and very doubtful he'll play, so put your feet up and enjoy the rest.
Why? Would you like some? How about Phillips of the Baggies? Or if you want a retired man mountain, Chris Iwelumo? Real generous us Scots EDIT: Sorry, Ell, thought I was replying to Shaks. Time for bed, I think. EDIT2: FFS, just read that back & know what you lot are like. Note Ell, that is not an invite!
Re; Perraud. Nice - Brest isn't a bad thing to put on your CV. It would almost spoil the fun if he moved here. Bamford would not shine in the England team under Southgate and we'd forever hear how he couldn't do It on the big stage It might be better if he gets a call up when we have a manager who knows how to use him. Similarly Phillips often looks surplus to requirements with the amount of defensive players Southgate plays against weak opposition.
Andy Robertson as he is a LB we need one and he suits our style of play, I can’t say Ben White as he could have engineered a move away if he really wanted one, I like Bartley too
Charlie Cresswell and Sam Greenwood have been nominated for Premier League 2 player of the year award. Charlie had his first season in the 23s and at only 18yo was handed the captaincy and excelled, playing 23 times and winning the title too. Sam Greenwood played 18 times and scored 12 goals and some of the best free kicks seen since Brazil in the world cup. Good luck boys
Doc, I was speaking to a Palace fan earlier and he was banging on about how great their u23's are, that they won their league with ease, and they'll be playing in the same division as the u23's of Man City, Chelsea etc next season. I told him Leeds u23's had done the same and would be in the same division as them. Was it divided up north/south? And am I right in saying we'll be in the very top division together? Because he didn't believe me and I'll look a proper twat if I'm wrong
