Shutting down all over the shop. Give it about 10 years and no humanoids will be in employment at all. Aberdoom Goblin has spoken and spoken it shall be.
The ready meals and kids school uniforms are good but I wouldn't do a full shop in there. Do they still do the Dine in for £10 deal with wine main side and pudding? That was terrific value
I love me a bit of Marks & Sparks. All my pants and most of my socks are from M&S, decent shirts and trousers for work but I haven't yet succumbed to their leisure wear as I am not yet a pensioner. As soon as I hit 65 I'll be adorned with beige slacks and Blue Harbour jumpers. Having an M&S food store at the station is deadly, far too easy to drift in there and come out more than a few quid lighter after stocking up on Percy Pig & Pals for the missus and cashews for yours truly. The problem with M&S is that their clothes are very much utilitarian or rather fuddy duddy and the food is expensive compared to almost everywhere else. It is going to be hard for them to cling on post-covid when everyone still wants to shop on-line.
It's a great shop for posh nibbles and you know the wine will be good even if it's the cheapest bottle. Only did a full shop in there once and that was during the first lockdown when all the other supermarkets had been all but stripped of essentials like bread, milk, etc.
The difference in quality between M&S and all the other supermarkets is massive. I get quite a lot of my food shopping in there.
I had an M&S 'Best Ever' prawn sandwich for lunch, along with a bag of Walkers salt & vinegar crisps. All washed down with a bottle of Fentimans sparkling elderflower. It was delightful.
Prawns. What are they good for? Absolutely nothing. Huh. Probably the least flavour of any shellfish but they go great in a curry, prawn cocktail, stir-fry etc. I've always thought they were a bit boring on their own, maybe it is the texture that appeals more than what they taste like themselves.
Despite the raging diabetes, I'm regularly in M&S, stocking up on chocolate orange biscuits, Percy Pigs, honeycomb and white Mountain Bars. I store a lot of it in the car, away from prying eyes and thieving hands. Aside from the sweet stuff, I do enjoy a jazz apple or two. Nice and sweet.
I'm not a fan. I like my apples to be small and red. I'll tolerate a Royal Gala in a pie or crumble, but it has to be a jazz straight out of the hand. Give 'em a go and you'll never look back.
