It's thrilling stuff isn't it. Never seen Cummings admitting any culpability himself, adds a ring of truth for me. What an utter bunch of ****s they all are though.
No that is incorrect. I did support the herd immunity at the time and later said maybe I was wrong... however that's how it will end up at some point. Cummings is coming unstuck now. Some of this stuff probably happened but he is making it all sound worse than it was. I said at the time and stick by my comments in that it was a pandemic that hit a new inexperienced government and it took time to get to grips with things.
If anyone sane and impartial is going to believe Cummings, Cummings has to corroborate his evidence. It's not enough for Boris's critics to say, Honest Dom has spoken so it must be true.
There is one thing he is right about and that was the Cobra leaks. I always thought it was strange that the Kranky seemed one step ahead at times.
I can't see a lot of Cabinet ministers coming out in support of Cummings. And his motivation for making these allegations is hugely suspect. I'm expecting tomorrow's Daily Mirror to be - Boris ate my hamster
It's pretty rich from Cummings that he wished he could have saved more lives. This was the bloke that went for a jolly around the public at Barnard Castle when he had Covid!
If you want my biased opinion.... everyone knows I am baised...you have told me enough times. They are all lying. ...which is paradoxically impossible. Even the truths are clouded by extravagant embellishments Dominic Cummings is vindictive. Boris is easily lead.. No one will come out if it well. But in the end ... nothing will happen. Boris will be still here in 3 years time
Yeah exactly. I won't dance to his tune Goldie , I will just laugh at the people who said they wouldn't believe a word he said last year and now hang on his every word. It suits their agenda.
Cummings's motivation may well be suspect, but that doesn't invalidate what he's saying. Do you really think that Cummings is making all this stuff up? If even 50% of it is true, it should be the end of Johnson and Hancock.
Half agree with that but I think Boris won't be around forever as he is planning to get married, has a new child and seems interested in writing more books. He will stay around and win another election then hand the reins over to someone like Rishi. TBH who would want to be a PM with the continuing attacks.
Maybe what he said last year was very obviously implausible nonsense while what he’s saying now isn’t being said in isolation, but backed up by our non-response in the early stages of Covid and various articles and words at the time. It’s a pathetic cop-out to stick with the “you didn’t believe him then so you can’t believe him now” line and I suspect you know that really. It’s not like the Tories are going to suffer for it.
Cummings's statements on their own won't damage Boris greatly. But if he can corroborate his statements or if he sets up a trail of evidence that investigative journalists can follow, that might do. The public know that Boris the ex-journo spouts off about stuff at times and shouldn't be taken literally. That's just the way he is. He can get away with hyperbole in a way other politicians can't.
Boris accepted his explanation over the Barnard Castle trip. It was a weak explanation and probably made up. It did damage to Boris's pandemic strategy. Ultimately though, I think people thought, we're in the middle of a crisis, it's all hands to the pump.
