We could (sort of) play a back five of Alexander, Phillip, William, Dave and Robert. #firstnamesforlastnames
This seem to be becoming a trend recently I remember last summer I'm sure a Dortmund signing and he had like this James bond style promo video when it was announced. Cringe af like. And uno
According to the Guardian, Rhys Williams is likely to go on loan to "a Football League club". We're also on the verge of signing Konate, not signing Kabak, and Gini's set to sign for Barca.
Hazard is being offloaded....or at least Madrid will try to. Not sure who will pay his wages mind. Same thing with Coutinho.....sometimes players need to stay where they are loved for their own good!
All piling on. Echo now debating what squad number he will take. Iam 100% sure they regret nothing. Coutinho is laden down with bench medals and his pockets are bulging. Love and legend means nothing to him. World Cup 2022 is all that's in his head now
I never said they regret anything. It is clear that they follow the money. I simply said that they should stay where they are loved....which, obviously, is just my opinion.
Well, there is a time when a player like henry or hazard need to move on just to revitalise themselves. IMO he'd won it all bar the CL and with lampard and the like around cheslea I'm sure he didn't see it happening. with Real it is a chance to have a go. Coutinho, won faff all and barca filled his boots. If more players stayed where they are loved we would have far less player movement. Obviously vardy was offered a move to arsenal, he stayed put and won the fa cup. However in theory he could have 2 medals in the same time with arsenal plus probably more cash. Was his fa cup with leicester worth more imo? yes far more. for most players it doesn't work like that though. So if love is enough fair enough, some want medals to make thier legend.
You only know with hindsight. Doesn’t change my view: some (not all) players ought to stay where they are loved. There are plenty who move for the reasons you outlined and benefitted massively. Hopefully players of similar ilk to Coutinho and Hazard, who were the big name at their respective clubs, then became just another name, think twice about the bright lights of The big Spanish two. I doubt it, but you can hope can’t you?
Injuries aside, I'm really excited for this signing. One of the best young defenders in the world and he pretty much ticks all the boxes - if this transfer pays off, we are looking at a right sided version of VVD in that he's quick, good on the ball, physically dominant, monster in the air, used to the high pressing style, and good defensive fundamentals. Let's hope he's not another Naby though.
we can only hope. Hips are fundamental to running sports and if he is not able to stand up to it we will find out i suppose. Its unfair to link an ankle injury to it. I don't really put "Much" store in these kinds of videos. It all looks grand him locking ball about and running like he's better than keita. Looks great, last ditch clearances etc. but theres only about 3 or 4 occasions in the video where i am really looking at his defending. all those teams you push guys back and close down options are not sexy enough to go in these clips. Theres 3 or 4 where he is aggressive in pressing into his opponent and on thier back, not backing off them. This is more interesting to me personally as I just feel with our current system and the current trend in the game defenders need to be more aggressive in shutting ff players ability to take the ball in and turn. If his pace is real then the ball over the top is less concerning and the aggressiveness helps get our team that bit up the park so the front threes can really pin someone in
