That is ****ing sensational. Cheers! I don’t visit this thread very often, there’s just too much on it if you haven’t kept up, but that made a brief check in more than worthwhile. Now off to find other stuff by Grant Lazlo. …..yeah, this is Grant’s best effort by a country mile……
Latest offering from Black Midi ahead of album release next week - searched high and low and finally managed to get a pre-order of the picture disc... Mad name for the song - also known as Runners Knee, it's actually a condition that I've suffered from for years and it can be really painful at times
Big balls up with the Glastonbury stream tonight, with thousands who paid £20 for exclusive access blocked out. Kudos to the organisers though who then removed the pay-wall and have opened it up to everyone....you can watch it here - if you like Coldplay they're on right now @UTRs - or you can rewind and catch the IDLES set! https://watch.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/livestream-1/backup/livestream1.html
Just watched "A bunch of kunst" on Sky Arts, following the rise of Sleaford Mods from small-town punks recording music in bedrooms and releasing their stuff on their own label to signing for Rough Trade and supporting Libertines. Great stuff, Jason Williamson is a great lyricist, backed up by Andy Fearn - you'll need to watch this @kiwiqpr
Happy 80th birthday to Bob Dylan... I was a massive Dylan fan in my younger years until I saw him at Glastonbury in the late 90s - he was ****in awful I was gutted
****, that's a seriously hard question to answer, and very much dependant on your motive.... If it's money you're after, I'd go for Yesterday - the royalties McCartney must've made on this must be phenomenal Timeless classic - look no further than Pink Floyds' Shine on you Crazy Diamond... Anti-war song.... Love song.... I could go on and on and on.....
Nope you only can have one. I’ve always thought if I could write lyrics like love minus zero, I could sit back for the rest of my life and say “I wrote that”
In the same vein, I think I've raised a demon child. He posed a question to me a couple of days ago..... If the house was burning down, and you could only save one vinyl album that you own, which one would it be? Little bastard! He was pissing himself laughing at me as I tried to think of an answer - reckoned he could see the steam coming out of my ears as I mentally went through my collection. I've no definitive answer, but plumped for my 40th anniversary limited edition copy of Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
Something a bit special....Radiohead covering The Smiths, New Order and Bjork! The New Order cover is ****in amazing!
