No. Looks like they're just giving Pfizer as the standard 1st dose now.

They were splitting the queue into 1st and 2nd doses.

Yeah when they are back in lockdown in their bubbles where they belong.

Az is no better than a regular flu jab for the Indian variant but the government want to call that highly effective. It was already shown to be quite poor for south African variant.

Pfizer is still good for all at 80% effective.

Under 40's aren't being offered AstraZeneca. You can find out before you go for your jab by looking up the centre where you're getting it. It will tell you which vaccine they're using. My eldest has his appointment booked and looked up the health centre online to check which vaccine they're using.

btw I had mine at the Arena.

Seemed the easiest place to get a booking.
They were doing both Pfizer and Az, cause there was a fair amount of older people coming for their 2nd which has to be the same as the first. The 2nd dose queue was alot smaller and they were being allowed to jump to the front of the queue. There was also less booths for the 2nd dose queue compared to those for the 1st.

I looked up which vaccine the centre I was going to was using beforehand, just out of curiosity. I had my first at a local health centre and it was only using Pfizer. I had the second at a vaccination centre on the university campus but I knew I could only have the same as the first dose so I didn't need to know beforehand. My son booked his online and was directed to a local community centre and looked online to check which vaccine they are using because he's under 40 and shouldn't be having AstraZeneca. Maybe like you say they use different vaccines on different days and the day he is going is Pfizer day. I don't really know other than he found out which vaccine he was having by checking online.

I think now that they are down to the lower age groups they will only be using Pfizer and Moderna. I'm guessing most of the oldies have all had their second doses.

When I booked mine online I wasn't offered the any local GPs or Pharmacies. I was limited to the Arena or the big Pharmacies (medical centre type places).
My parents had their 2nd dose at the weekend at the local Pharmacy (which is part of the GPs office) and were told that they (the GPs) were only doing AZ 2nd doses from now on.

Gotcha. I’ll have a look see if I can find out online in that case. Neither of mine are at any kind of medical centre. First is at a racecourse lol

    The day after.

Nothing really, a little tickle on the chest (but that could be anything). The only real after effect is that the muscle they injected into ached and now feels like I've been punched in the arm.

Same for me. Only other thing apart from the arm was I had the shakes for a couple of minutes in bed on Monday and very slightly once more yesterday. Was also a bit tired yesterday but fine today.

The mrs (m)'s reaction to her AZ jab was far worse. She gets her second dose tomorrow, but It'll be Pfizer or Moderna.

The slaves in the cellar are having all sorts of reactions, but goodness knows what I'm injecting them with.

I’ve had both jabs and have still contracted it, but my immune system is ****ed.

A year ago I’d have likely been in hospital now, or worse.....

    Get your jabs gents.

The sore arm is the most common after effect with Pfizer. With my second dose, my arm was sore and felt very heavy. Lasted a lot longer second time as well.

They've started mixed doses over there? They're still trialling it here.
