Look at the absentees!! No Deli Allí. No Oxlade-Chamberlain. In Oxo's case, injury, in Alli's case, a touch of arrogance that annoyed Mourinho. Regarding Oxo, it would appear his best playing days are behind him, such is his misfortune getting injured. Hope I am wrong, though. No Tami Abraham who was in good form until dropped by Tuchel. And no Harry Winks!!!! We should be out protesting for his inclusión. Maddison must consider.himself unlucky after such a good season with Leicester.
No Ings because of injury doubts yet, donkey Henderson gets a call up despite not kicking a ball since 2012!
I know there is probably sarcasm there . But just in case there isn’t you need a Grandparent from the nation, Bamford has an Irish Grandparent.
Neither do we, a good rest and recuperation for Danny please along with others who've had a busy season.
So he could play for NI or Eire, then? I thought there was a player who played for oñe of the home countries a few years back, who did not have a heritage to that particular country. Might be mistaken but oñe of the Encyclopedias on here will know.
Champions League-winning captain, donkey Henderson. He might not be Paul Gascoigne, but you can't have eleven Gazzas on the pitch. You need some Germans too, and Hendo is our most German player.
This is not directly similar, but in Rugby Union, players can play for a country, if they are resident in that country for a specified time period. This is why Samoan players are playing for New Zealand, and England (and probably several other countries). Is there a similar residency qualification for international footballers? It probably wouldn't apply to any Premier League players, who are nominally English, but want to play for a different country. As a separate but related issue, when Jack Charlton was managing Eire, some of the 'Irish' players had very tenuous links to the Irish Republic, but sufficient to be considered Irish, at least for the duration of their international careers.
Theoretically I guess he could play for NI, because all people born on the island are eligible for both (I think). Both National Team managers would probably crawl over broken glass for a striker with 17 PL goals. Outside of birth or the Grandparent rule I think you need full citizenship in a country to be eligible for a call up e.g Diego Costa switching from Brazil to Spain. Rugby’s rules are much less strict, you just have to have played in the country for a couple of years to be eligible, I’m glad football seems to have some tighter rules on this. Of course I could have this all wrong, but I think this is how it works...
German's are **** these days. My point is he hasn't played for month's. He could be picked and break down. Oh and he's a donkey regardless of the trophies he's won. That's my opinion.
Grealish and Rice both played for RoI at youth levels, Rice even played for their main side. Not sure of their links to Ireland though, and Grealish is as Brummie as they come and Rice sounds like he should be on EastEnders.
I remember in primary, a dinner-lady coming over to my table and attempting to hide - what years later I suspect could have been - Grealish, which I had been neglecting, under the dollops of oddly stringy mashed potatoes.
Grealish is a Somerset dialect name for mashed swede, which you don’t need to bother vomiting up because it already has been.
Well it appears Klopp, Southgate and the rest of the footballing world disagree with you! Seriously though, in what is a very young, albeit talented squad, you need a few leaders with experience at the very top. Along with Maguire (another injury doubt) and Kane, we don't really have many leaders so it is obvious why Southgate wants him there.
