OK.. before I get too excited .. is it this chap looking to buy us on his own .. or is he part of a consortium who have a bit more funding behind them .. as is always the case .. potential new owner comes with a modicum of concern as to if he has proper funding to push us to the next level .. but as many have already illuded to .. a few simple things will bring an immediate amount of good will and feeling towards the club again which will transfer to bums on seats and merchandise being sold at an improved rate I suspect. Twt I imagine but one can only hope he is an improvement on our current incumbents. Fingers crossed.
They could look at a club where the owners are only worth £23 million, b7t have sold out their season tickets for over 15 seasons, including a season in League One, spent the same time in the PL as we have since 2008 but have still managed to extend the capacity of the stadium they own and have to maintain and also built an excellent new training facility and decide they were the club to buy. But would Delia Smith and her husband sell?
They say that the joy of being a pessimist is that you're never disappointed, but I can't quite see that pleasure in action to be fair. I don't know why, but 'curmudgeonly' just seems to be the word of the moment.
I told candw my image of him was one of an old curmudgeon nursing a half of bitter in the bar of his local whilst putting the world to rights. Which he didn't dispute.
