Shearer is on a talk in on YouTube with Barton and caulkin and he just said Wrighty is one of willocks mentors and he’s asked Wrighty to pass on his number so he can tell him all about the toon.
So he’s scored again. He’s single handed kept us up effectively. As a fan base I think the kid is going down eternally as one of our best if not THE best loan signing in history for us. He’s always welcome. I honestly think what will happen is he will stay at Arsenal. But it won’t work out for him. We will get the takeover and he will think, I want to be part of that. So honestly I think we will get him back in a year or so, maybe even six months. Willock. You are now literally a “Maggies legend”!
Unfortunately BG, he was pretty underwhelming - he was carried through most games by the rest of the team.... 5 of those “goals” were pretty much own goals that had simply brushed him on the way through the pack. I’d urge you to leave Arteta in no confusion that Willock should be offloaded asap. Sorry.
Well, based on his latest post on Instagram, it seems like we've decided we want him back. I can't say I'm too surprised if we do. However, even though he's said 'goodbye', I still think if a club offers in excess of £30m, we will consider selling.
i suspect Arteta wouldn’t want to risk the backlash of sending him out on loan and then having a mediocre Arsenal season.... I wouldn’t risk it now JW’s proved himself (in my view he has). So yes, a bid would get entertained if high enough; but no loaning. we won’t bid high enough.
I think we will see this lad back in January on loan only this time with an option to buy at around 22 million.
Yeah I agree. We have no European football which will make it harder to attract players, we have a lot of players leaving this Summer, Odegaard and Ceballos are going back to Madrid and, frankly, there are other players who we should look at selling rather than Joe. This is his best chance to break into the Arsenal team. I think we’ll give him a chance in the first team next season. I don’t know if Arteta will get the best out of him, and his valuation may decrease in 6 months compared to how high his stock is now, but he’s done enough on his loan to warrant a chance for us. My gut feeling is he’ll be sold come next Summer, but let’s see if he can maximise his potential under Arteta.
Fair comments from a very balanced Arsenal fan. They exist. Ha ha. He’s done brilliant for us. There won’t be a single nufc notdisappointed if he goes back to you but at the same time we can’t expect anything different. I posted earlier in this thread that my gut feeling is he will want to stay at Arsenal. That you will try and fit him in but his style of play (and you have quite rightly said aswell) is that it won’t work. I can see us knocking at your door again at Christmas with a loan deal and a transfer fee agreed at 25m.
So rumours are that Arsenal are signing both Odegaard and Sander Berge in the summer. Keeping Willock also. They have an abundance of midfielders already. I personally can’t see him getting much game time there next season.
