I'm really proud of Klopp and the players. After an awful season, for all sorts of reasons, they managed to pull third place out of the bag. A truly herculean effort. There have been incredible lows matched only by momentous highs, Alisson's goal being the pinnacle. I am so pleased that he will have that memory forever and that we will share it with him. The team may not have won any trophies this season but they continue to win my respect and support. I couldn't love them any more. We are in this together. We win together, we lose together. With Klopp at the helm, the bond between him, the players and us has gone from strength to strength. The season has been almost biblical; plague, famine, blight and resurrection. Keep the faith.
Speaking to one of my mates who is a chelsea fan and he’s said quite a few times over this season that bar Mount he doesn’t really like any of this chelsea team. Not that they aren’t good but just doesn’t feel any real connection with them unlike back in day when had lampard Terry essien drogba etc. I think that’s nice way looking at it as even though we may not have won anything, looking at this team and I like it. I like Salah Bobby Thiago Fabinho TAA alisson vvd henderson etc. Now yes it’s about winning things and we might not win anything next year of city strengthen again, but at least can go into games knowing there are playing that enjoy watching in this Liverpool team and seem to have a good connection with fans
Must admit surprise for me this season was Jota. Can’t say he really stood out for me at Wolves, more so I didn’t really pay whole lot of attention to him. Came out of now where and £45m was a lot (albeit staggered payments) but he hit the ground running and 9 prem goals plus more in the CL is a great return for someone that missed nearly half the season. Versatility across front is perfect for us, good age with room for improvement and for his height actually offers a bit of a threat in the box. If he can get those numbers up to 15 next year to add to Salahs 20 manes 15 and firmino 10 then should be good going forward.
I can see Thiago chipping in too. He's shown us what a truly gifted player he is. Fans back, players back and more accustomed to each other, goals is the only improvement he has to make.
It's actually a really good record to be fair however we conceded multiple big chances in every game. Allison (for me) was the one who really stepped up and ensured clean sheets. I also wanted to say that Rhys can definitely ping a ball! He's quality on the ball .
Just posted this on another thread - we had the 4th best defensive record, with no senior CB's that's almost a miracle. No surprise the two rookies ended up with war wounds; they really had to battle.
He was scoring close to 1 in 3 for Wolves and is now 1 in 2 for us with better players around him. Big future.
I was pleased we signed Jota as i just thought he suited us , just like i did Salah , though i was surprised by the fee though however Hoevers made up for it to some extent .
Given we knew ki had not kicked on one iota in 2 years (but was a lovely player) it's hardly a shock he's barely played. He's had few starts though as Wolves have struggled and he's still only 19. The fact Williams blew past him (who is right dodgy in defence) says how little progress he made from 16 to 18
Have to agree. Hes tall but not massively tall and he has the pace and a nice touch so Rb makes most sense. Right side of a 3 man defense if he shows the intelligence possibly
