Looks like a number of "sources" were wrong in that we'd have a manager wrapped up before the end of the season then...

Who'd have thought Football Insider amongst others would be so wrong? <rofl>

The fact that it hasn't been announced doesn't mean that it hasn't happened.....it's just a secret......a very secret, secret....in fact it's so secret that even the new manager doesn't know about it, it's so very, very, very, very, VERY secret. :bandit:

Ally Gold reckons we may have the manager done within the next 7-10 days and that they'll test Tottenham's resolve financially.

Not sure whether that means we're hiring a manager who'll want a **** load to spend. Or they'll cost us a fair bit to prize away from their club - So Rodgers, Potter and ten Hag possibly?

EDIT: Just read through the article and sounds like the latter, prizing him away will be financially straining. So I'm thinking Rodgers, Leicester will want £15m-£20m I'd imagine. Though Potter wouldn't come cheap either. Think it could be between those two as even with ten Hag's extension I can't see him costing too much.

Any manager who has a contract which ends this season will actually be contracted until 1 June.

Oh well, at least we now know how long the club think it will take for Fat Frank to be the only candidate that doesn't tell Levy to "**** off!"

Not if your new manager still has a CL/EL game to play, maybe after that though <whistle>

It's a puzzler as in his full article Gold runs through the usual names but then adds rather cryptically:

"It is thought that in the last few days of the season more strong candidates have made their interest known."

Aside from being poorly worded (i.e. 'stronger candidates' clearly implies 'better than the above' whereas 'more strong' suggests 'equal and in addition to the above'), I wonder who he's talking about?

Other than the Lille boss, I can't think of many unexpected names who will have had unfinished business to take care of right up to the end of the season, for whom we would represent a big step up in their career.

I think we've run out of Bundesliga coaches given they all seem to be playing musical chairs

Alasdair Gold is claiming we're down to two, while The Pathetic is more specific with ten Hag and Rangnick...meaning that Potter's getting the job
