If Bruce had any tactical nous they'd have a chance, poor form, cant defend. Actually play Larsson in position crossing for the Korean lad and Wickham and Sausagegone on the left v a novice RB (Jenkinson). I'd take a draw v spurs, but then I always say that...
Heavens it looks as if I will be agreeing with a mag. I have said in another place if SB picks Sess as a lone striker..I will go to the top of our street, and I do not know what (trying very hard not to swear)... we should play the two apprentice strikers, let them alternate in the CF position and the other on the wing..Sess also on the wing, Larsson, Vaughan and Gardner the others in midfield and go for it! we have nothing to lose and nor has SB. p.s. sorry Catts you will get sent off if you play at the arse. Meyler and Jack on the bench do we have any reserve/younger lads forwards to go on the bench. As Titus is in jail or very nearly and McBardo is still banned the bench looks a bit bear. Will out new chairman be spending money in Jan? However if I need to think like like SB, I need to ponder on what is probably the worst team and formation and go for that, So Sess lone striker, Larsson LW, Elmo RW, Catts CM + Colback/Meyler. I think not even SB can screw up the back 4 of O'Shea, Brown, Turner and Rico and as Flash is still the forgotten man Ming in goal.
Everyone here predicting a loss for us is clearly forgetting how lucky we are. We will yet again get the "rub of the green" as the pundits like to put it and get an undeserved, whilst gritty, long-drawn out 12-0 victory in which Spurs will be the better of two disappointing sides only stopped by some solid last ditch defending. In match of the day they may decide to show one or two of the goals just to show how lucky they were but the majority of the time will be spent debating a rather eye-catching dribble from Bale in the second half.
well said Syd. we all get enough stick from southern journos so it will be good to see the likes of Durham et al squirm for once.
He was saying that that was the most likely outcome, in his opinion. He also suggested that a draw wouldn't exactly be a massive shock. No, I wasn't saying you would probably lose if you score one while the opposition score three. The meaning of the reply was obvious (which I suspect you already know, otherwise I'm giving you far too much credit).
Arsenal 5-0 Sund, Newcastle 1-2 Spurs, SAFC are woefull away this season as bad as i have seen them, good job we have Brown and O Shea.
Evening black cats, hoping for a good game today and lord knows we could use the points. Shame about bendter not being able to play i would like to see how he gets on in his preferred role
I'd be content if both our teams come away with a point each, but I'm hoping for a nufc win and we have the potential to get it if we put 100% pressure on and play a cracking performance.
I agree with that, got to have Seb on the right and a proper striker up front with Sess on the left cutting in and we can sneak a point. I think you will get a draw as Spurs have hit some good form and have some world class players.
I'm just glad we have the home advantage and Spurs have the away disadvantage. Home form is rarely ever as good as away form and I expect us to exploit that.
Probably. Like I said a while back, the wingers are only one stage of the process. There will be many times where they beat our fullbacks and manage to get a cross in, but it still has to reach opposition players in the box who will be up against our very strong CB partnership. As long as THEY do their job, then the crosses, and most of the winger activity, will come to very little. I expect an awful lot of box clearances tomorrow. To minimise the number of crosses, I'd prefer our two wingers to track back a little more than usual and then play Ben Arfa in the hole behind the striker. That way, even if we nullify our wing attack slightly by having the wingers in a more defensive role, at least we have Cabaye, Ben Arfa and co to make up for that through the middle.
