I like where you are coming from Hock! He needs to be put back in his box for a short while and come back hungry to play for us!
Four games to play in that short month long loan, Palace at home Leicester and Hull away and the Posh at home. If he is 50% fit he is 75% fitter than our current forwards and I would dare to consider a possible 9 or even 10 points. three points for the home games three away to Hull (we owe them a stuffing and they are 3 wins from 5 at home so not that strong) and a possible point at Leicester just because I am feeling in a good mood.... Just the kick start we need to the season so far. Good times.
In our promotion season he was sensational! Speaking from memory 7 goals and 34 assists shows he makes the right decisions in and around the box. I've seen all his three starts this season and he looks fit but not match sharp. My guess would be he needs more games than he realises, so a month won't be enough. I'd like to see him stay until Christmas, long enough to do you a real favour, then come back and show what he can do in the Premier League. Of course it's always possible that the injuries have done for him, but hopefully he's young enough for that not to be the case.
I hope he does the business, we really need someone right now to put any chances that we may create away!
I guess it will also depend on how the current players in the Wolves team do... If they perform, and stay injury-free, you can see him staying a bit longer, but with a recall clause in the contract! He will add some extra experience and quality into the team, and make us that little less reliant on the current players having to play every game.
Will be interesting to see where Sean plays kightly - from what I remember he plays on the right wing. He has suffered two bad injuries and might have lost a bit of pace so he could be seen by Sean and Mick McCarthy as a direct replacement for Weimann and play a supporting role to the front one or two.
We will have to wait and see what cunning plan SD has for him, cannot do any worse than what we have already got!
I think it's possible that he could stay until xmas if Wolve's aren't desperate to bring him back. Our history on loaned players is generally pretty impressive
My hope is this will be the equivalent of Buckley deciding to turn it on last season. That run of games made the difference between a comfortable season in which we dared to dream, and spending the spring sweating over survival. Whichelow is more in the mould of Kightly than anyone else we have. If the loan goes well and Matty keeps going in training, he should hopefully start getting a look-in when Kightly leaves.
Today's Watty Obs says McCarthy wants him back as soon as possible - we are likely to get 5 or 6 games out of him in his month and then he will return - apparently he needs a few games on the trot to build his fitness levels up for the Prem.
I did think with McLeish being a proud Scotsman and Weimann scoring against Scotland U-21s in midweek, we might get him back but your comment and Kightly being given Weimann's number makes it look unlikely.
Nope looks like Andi`s on the up and good on him for that as well ! I must admit I am against loanees unless we have them for the season! This time however we are short on quality and hopefully kightly can provide it at least for a month!
Excellent news lets hope he can hit the ground running. Comes with a glowing reputation but I hope he's fit and not just getting back match sharpness with us. Matty Whichelow back I hope Dychee gives him a good run in the team as he needs the games and is very quick. With a couple of decent wingers I am sure Joel Garner will start scoring the goals. COYY
