Old but still good imo. ACTUAL transcript of a US naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October, 1995. This radio conversation was released by the Chief of Naval Operations on 10-10-95. Americans: “Please divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid a collision.” Canadians: “Recommend you divert YOUR course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.” Americans: “This is the captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.” Canadians: “No, I say again, you divert YOUR course.” Americans: “THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN, THE SECOND LARGEST SHIP IN THE UNITED STATES’ ATLANTIC FLEET. WE ARE ACCOMPANIED BY THREE DESTROYERS, THREE CRUISERS AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS. I DEMAND THAT YOU CHANGE YOUR COURSE 15 DEGREES NORTH. THAT’S ONE-FIVE DEGREES NORTH, OR COUNTER MEASURES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP.” Canadians: “This is a lighthouse. Your call.”

A variation on the same hoax from 07 May 2008 Top this for a speeding ticket!!! CHP vs. USMC Two California Highway Patrol Officers were conducting speeding enforcement on I-15, just north of the Marine Corps Air Station at Miramar . One of the officers was using a hand held radar device to check speeding vehicles approaching the crest of a hill. The officers were suddenly surprised when the radar gun began reading 300 miles per hour. The officer attempted to reset the radar gun, but it would not reset and then turned off. Just then a deafening roar over the treetops revealed that the radar had in fact locked on to a USMC F/A-18 Hornet which was engaged in a low flying exercise near the location. Back at the CHP Headquarters the Patrol Captain fired off a complaint to the USMC Base Commander. The reply came back in true USMC style: Thank you for your letter. We can now complete the file on this incident. You may be interested to know that the tactical computer in the Hornet had detected the presence of, and subsequently locked on to, your hostile radar equipment and automatically sent a jamming signal back to it, which is why it shut down. Furthermore, an Air-to-Ground missile aboard the fully armed aircraft had also automatically locked on to your equipment location. Fortunately, the Marine Pilot flying the Hornet recognized the situation for what it was, quickly responded to the missile system alert status and was able to override the automated defense system before the missile was launched to destroy the hostile radar position. The pilot also suggests you cover your mouths when cussing at them, since the video systems on these jets are very high tech. Sergeant Johnson, the officer holding the radar gun, should get his dentist to check his left rear molar. It appears the filling is loose. Also, the snap is broken on his holster. Thank you for your concern. Semper Fi.
Chelsea and England captain John Terry may have come up against the best strikers in the world during his career, but never before has he faced the daunting prospect of going head-to-head with a Royal Python. .However, that is exactly what is in store for the defender when he opens a reptile shop in Surbiton later this month. Reptile Kingdom is scheduled to be officially opened by the player on October 24th and owner Terry Clark wants his guest of honour to get up close and personal with one of its most fearsome snakes. Mr Clark managed to secure the celebrity endorsement through a mutual friend and has admitted he will be delighted to welcome Terry to the store. 'Hopefully he will bring his kids along so we can show him how friendly our reptiles are. We plan to show them some of our more exotic pets and snakes and, as long as mum and dad agree, perhaps get them to take one home,' the businessman told This Is Local London. He added that Terry is a 'big, strong lad' so should have no fears about holding a Royal Python. Mr Clark is aiming to change the bad reputation snakes have, advising people they have nothing to be scared about when it comes to keeping the animals as pets. . Just ask the new princess... As for Terry, takes a snake to know a snake...
