It was a bloody terrible penalty - perfect height for the keeper, nowhere near either top or bottom corners. Worst I've seen all season.
Loser 92: The Black Cats need something to happen at the Stadium of Light very soon, or it’s League one football again next year. They need to chuck everyone forward. BBC website.
Sunderland got what they deserved. Why they were wasting so much time in the last 10 minutes when they were behind.
Pleased with the result, but actually feel for the teams beaten in the Play offs... thankfully its never happened to us... (especially the young supporters ..)
Still remember our loss to Leyton Orient and it hurt despite our crazy run to get there in the first place under Brian Little
I did. It was bad. Had the goalie dived Aguero would have scored. Bad pen, terrible goalkeeping for a pen.
I'm with you there - both teams have given everything today, as did Blackpool and Oxford the other night. When we lost in the playoffs (? against Orient) it wasn't quite such a blow as we were a bit surprised to actually make it that far and were underdogs from the start. Bit late with that one I'm afraid.
Best football at the Orient play off was our match in the middle of Leyton high Street - stopped the traffic it was that impressive
It's a good time to reflect on what we have achieved as a Football Club this season. We have won our League, against the odds, at the first time of asking,we have drafted in players of real promise and despite the hatred and/or dislike aimed at our owners, they have backed our success... I fully understand how and why all the bad feeling started and has escalated to the level we are at currently but think of how the fans of Sunderland and Oxford feel and how the fans of either Blackpool or Lincoln are going to feel after their head to head and it puts the situation we have into some sort of perspective.
An unprecedented number of local lads in the team, and a young side. Great platform to build on. Agree about avoiding the playoffs....an endless journey ending in failure, devastating for fans and the club alike.
