I seem to remember that Burnley game he was a bit over-enthusiastic, and got himself booked and injured early on.
But turned Crystal Palace inside out and was man of the match (and scored) in the Carabao cup. Also scored against Forest and Middlesbrough (and played against Burnley) to get Burton to semis of Carabao cup.
Well hang on a minute, let's not be too hasty. He definitely has quality, as he showed against Newcastle and Chelsea. I wouldn't lose any sleep if we didn't sign him but I think it's too hasty to write him off.
As with any transfer, it would depend on the cost & wage. So i am making the assumption he wouldn't be particularly cheap coming from Liverpool having only recently signed there... but considering his overall form on loan, he has done no where near enough to warrant a sizeable transfer fee.
It seems weird how £20m used to be a big big signing, even 5 years ago or so. Now it seems it’s bare minimum for a PL player.
Am I reading it wrong? Sounds like we want him on loan again rather than permanently Is it still 2 PL loans per season? I would rather use the 2 spots on other players having seen Minamino performances
Centre mid as it likes to “stamp” it’s authority on the game whilst trying to develop situations with speedy “delivery”
Indeed. I'm more than happy for Minamino to stay with us. But probably not for something in excess of £10m (for various reasons). And there's practically no chance of Liverpool selling him for that, no matter how little they might intend to play him. Especially with him still having three years on his contract. Fortunately a loan extension is what is being rumoured. So the opportunity to retain him next season without needing to fork out whatever ridiculous price Liverpool slap on him.
It is fascinating to see the BBC "Gossip" section and see just how few English players seems to be sought after by the lager clubs. Many of the players cited as being of interest to the larger clubs are unfamiliar to me.
